These are my go-to strings. They're very durable and sound amazing. I will most definitely re-purchase Ernies when I have to change strings again. I would have written this review with or without the #sweepstakes offer from how good they are.

I have tried just about every guitar string manufacturing brand over the past 26 years of playing guitar. The Ernie Ball 2253s' are my favs. They are consistent in tone from pack to pack. I used EBs' in different sizes from heavy to super light but the 2253 9s' are the ticket for the tone I strive for. Some comment that they break easily and they do if you have gorilla picking or strumming technique. I have only had a string break one time on a gig, that is my testimony! Play live and play from the soul.
Playing is much more comfortable now

I wasn't thrilled with the gauge of the strings on my Les Paul, and wanted something a bit easier to use.

Pure Nickel guitar strings are the truth. They take maybe a day longer to break in, but their tone stays more consistent over the life of the strings, and they seem to age less fast and break less frequently. The tone is consistently more warm than cheap stainless steel strings, offsetting the voicing of trebly Fender pickups. Pure nickel strings were the industry standard before the introduction of cheaper stainless steel strings. I have chosen only the Pink 9-42 or Green 10-46 (for different applications) "Rock n Roll" Guitar strings to outfit my guitars for over 10 years. Accept no Substitutions....
