Description
The Ernie Ball 2225 Nickel Extra Slinky Electric Guitar Strings provide an ultra-flexible feel for lightning-quick fretwork and string bending. Ernie Ball strings have been the choice of iconic rock guitarists since the 1960s for their premium quality and tone. The 2225 Extra Slinky set is made of nickel-plated steel wrap wire wound around tin-plated hex-shaped steel cores, producing a balanced sound with crisp highs and tight lows. The Extra Slinky gauges—.008, .011, .014, .022, .030 and .038"—provide extremely light tension for fast, agile playing across the fretboard.
Buttery Smooth Playability
The 2225 Extra Slinky strings glide effortlessly under your fingers for fluid solos, quick chord changes and wide string bends. Their ultra-light gauge requires minimal finger pressure, reducing hand fatigue during long practice or performance sessions. The slinky feel and flexible responsiveness of these strings make them ideal for shredding, tapping and other advanced techniques.
Premium Materials and Construction
Like all Ernie Ball strings, the 2225 Extra Slinky set is precise to the tightest tolerances using the highest quality materials. The nickel-plated steel wrap wire is corrosion-resistant and long-lasting, while the tin-plated hex cores produce a crisp tone with clear note definition. Each string is meticulously inspected to ensure maximum performance, tuning stability and intonation accuracy right out of the pack.
Iconic Tone
For over 50 years, Ernie Ball strings have been the choice of world-class rock guitarists for their distinctive bright tone and reliable performance. The 2225 Extra Slinky strings will give your guitar a voice that cuts through the mix with the clarity and articulation that has defined the sound of rock music.

The only strings you'll ever need...
After having played with Dean Markleys, D'Addario's, and other Ernie Ball products, I've come to the conclusion that these are the best strings I've ever played. I would like to review these in more detail, but all I can think of is one word- amazing. I will never play with any other strings, and I hope, for your sake, that you won't either.

To Light go with .009 instead
I though these would be good for me to start playing, have not played in 15 years, but they bend WAY to easy and you will only use them for about 2 to 3 weeks, I am already buying .009 and only had mine for 2 weeks. They also do not start the callus on the fingers very well.

Slinky's are great, they stay in tune, last a long time, and they sound good. I like the 8's so much I'm thinking about trying the 7's

I don't care what anyone says about string thickness being the key to a "heavy" sound, these can sound pretty heavy, but also allow you to play with finess and wild bends. If you play with a lighter touch and approach, these are great.

Hi, Can I use these strings on my kids (1/2 size electric guitar)? Thank you. Best, Hiten
Yes you can. You would just have more string to trim off once they're on the guitar.
