Epiphone

Description

KISS legend Tommy “Spaceman” Thayer returns with his fourth Epiphone signature guitar, the Tommy Thayer Electric Blue Les Paul Outfit. This new limited-edition Les Paul features a unique Electric Blue finish with chrome pickguard, Seymour Duncan JB humbuckers, and Grover Rotomatic tuners. It includes an EpiLite case and certificate of authenticity.

Rock & Roll in Electric Blue
Tommy went from opening for Kiss in 1983, to joining as a full-fledged member in 2013. A year later, he became an Epiphone Signature Artist with the release of his “White Lightning” Les Paul and Explorer. Now he’s back with this Tommy Thayer Electric Blue Les Paul Outfit.

The first thing you’ll notice is the gloss Electric Blue finish, which looks mesmerizing under stage lights. Dig deeper and you’ll find a classic Les Paul-profile made from mahogany with a maple cap. The top is lined with Les Paul Custom-style white and black binding.

The mahogany neck has a speedy ’60s Slim Taper profile. The 12" radius makes for easy and accurate string bends over 22 medium frets; a 1.69" GraphTech nut is sized to provide a perfect balance for playing chords and solos. Tommy’s name is engraved on the chrome truss rod cover, while the back of the “dove wing” headstock features a Spaceman logo and a reproduction of Tommy’s signature in silver.

The Tommy Thayer Electric Blue Les Paul Outfit is loaded with Seymour Duncan JB humbuckers—Seymour’s most revered design and one of the most recorded pickups on the planet. It’s the ultimate hot-rodded humbucker. The JB neck pickup is covered, but the JB bridge features an open-coil design with blue bobbins. Volume and Tone Controls come with custom Blue Top Hat knobs with metal pointers.

Rock-solid Epiphone Hardware
For his signature Les Paul, Tommy chose the LockTone ABR bridge and StopBar tailpiece. They retain the classic look, but the posts are locked in place—no more dropped hardware during string changes. Grover Rotomatic tuners with an 18:1 tuning ratio make for fast and reliable tuning. The Outfit comes with a custom blue plush hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity.

Lifetime Guarantee
The Tommy Thayer Electric Blue Les Paul Outfit has a Limited Lifetime Guarantee and Gibson’s world-famous 365/24/7 customer service.

Awesome blueness!

Love this guitar. It's not a Gibson but who cares. I don't. This guitar is a stunner to look at with the blue sparkles and on stage with the lights it looks beautiful. It also has a good weight and good neck feel. Not too slim and not too chunky. A real solid instrument. I've played many Gibson Les Pauls and this one plays just as well. This guitar really stands out from all the boring colors out there. It's a keeper.

Got one with a cracked neck

Just got one new from GC but came in with a cracked neck. Really inexcusable from epiphone since it comes in a case, whether made in china or elsewhere. Right back to GC.

Bought this guitar solely for its color. The pickups are a great change. However, the frets as delivered needed to be leveled and had notches filed in, in what appeared to be a quick fix to stop fret buzz. Problem was this made any kind of bends near impossible. I chose to take it to a tech to remedy, since the rest of the guitar is beautiful. After the fret dress and setup, it plays awesome.

I would prefer a 59 in the neck, but this thing looks and sounds amazing. I wasn't sure I would like a sparkling guitar, but this thing is made to be in a spotlight.

  • Electric Blue is an understatement.

    How much does guitar weigh?

    Open Reply - Thomas
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be about 10 lbs
