Epiphone

Description

The SG Prophecy Custom EX Electric Guitar from Epiphone is based on the original Gibson SG design. The Prophecy guitar boasts an EMG-81 humbucker in the bridge position for great attack and sustain during solos and an EMG-85 humbucker at the neck for fat, great-sounding rhythm. Lavish features on this guitar include a highly figured quilt maple top on a solid mahogany body, pearl inlay knobs, strap locks, graphite nut, Grover tuners, a bound ebony fingerboard, unique blade inlay, and a deep, rich midnight ebony finish. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. The Prophecy guitar's hard maple set neck and 24-fret ebony fingerboard provide a playground two full octaves in length.

Amazing!

I just recently bought this guitar, and wow, i was blown away at its sound! It has a nice crisp tone, pickups are extremely nice (sick sustain), and its neck is extremely nice and slick. The all around performance of this guitar is astounding! Now to move on to the looks. Lets just say that the pictures on this sight DO NOT do justice to the beauty of this guitar. it is So clean, and yet "grunge" looking at the same time, I love it! So it may not be a Gibson, but if you ask me it plays just as good! For the price its a steal. - Josh

Good guitar... the neck on mine was warped and the bridge was drilled in to close to the neck.

This guitar sounds great, but ive spent so much time trying to get the neck and bridge set right that ive finally given up. This guitar just wont stay in tune either even though the gears are really nice. im getting a PRS

Walked into a pawn shop, my eyes went straight to this guitar. Got it in mint condition, almost brand new.. Not a scratch or chip on it for 300 bucks. I have never been so happy with a guitar. Action is perfect, th e fret board is soooo smooth and fast. The pick ups scream.. Everything about this guitar is amazing.

This guitar is amazing. I was never really big with Epiphone until I found this guitar and tried it out. It sounds great especially with the EMG's and the type of music I play. The guitar looks alot better than it does in the picture. One of my favorite guitars, and I love the wide neck it has. I've had it for a couple months and I don't regret it at all.

I loved this guitar so much when I tried it out, I almost got down on one knee before it! Okay, I'm exagerrating there, but really, it's a great guitar. Not only is it a beautiful-looking guitar, but you've got seemingly endless sustain and incredibly powerful tone that's great for heavy music. Plus you've got the 24 frets and the flawless access to the upper register. The only problems I have with this guitar are the fact that the pickups are active humbuckers, so they require batteries, and while the neck and fingerboard are lightning fast, the back of the neck leaves a residue on your hand. Also, the guitar is a bit heavy, so hold on tight! While you may be able to afford a real Gibson at this price, I would rather buy a pricier Epiphone than a cheap Gibson. Overall, a great guitar with a dark look.

HIS GUITAR IS AMAZING!!! the emg pick ups make it sound great, the grover tuners make it stay in tune great, the awsome finish with the white outline looks amazing, and the inlays are insane! one thing that i have noticed is that its neck is not as chunky as normal sgs, its much smaller, which i guess would be a good thing. the only problem i had with this guitar was that when i first got it, the action was extremely high.also the neck doesnt have a glossy finish, it has a diffeent finish, but its still good. it feels good and plays great, i would definetaly recommend this guitar for its price.

  • Soon to be my next guitar!

I played this guitar today at my local Guitar Center. I was originally planning on getting an ESP LTD EC-1000 VB, but this guitar changed my mind. First off it has the EMG 81/85 unlike the EC-1000 which has the EMG 81/60. The price on this guitar is better on the wallet, and it plays better. It also, unlike many Gibson or Epiphone products, has 24 frets, which means a full two octave scale and its possible to solos in songs by Slayer, Metallica, ect. I love the SG body style because it allows for more reach around near the base of the neck. The matte finish on the neck helps keep it from getting grimy from your palms and allows a smoother slide up and down the neck. Overall an amazing guitar!
