Epiphone Power Players | Your First Forever Guitar

Epiphone

Description

The Epiphone Power Players Les Paul is a 3/4-size version of the iconic Les Paul electric guitar tailored for younger players and those with smaller hands. Now the legendary tone and playability of a Les Paul is accessible to musicians of all ages and sizes. The Power Players Les Paul's 22.73" scale mahogany neck and slightly downsized mahogany body make fretting and strumming a breeze while producing the signature thick, rounded tone of a Les Paul. Epiphone's 700T and 650R humbucking pickups are the driving force behind the Power Players' articulate lows, warm mids and searing highs.

A Les Paul That Fits Like A Glove

At 3/4 the size of a standard Les Paul, the Power Players model is lightweight, balanced and comfortable for players of all skill levels to hold and play. Its shorter 22.73" scale length reduces string tension, making fretting and bending easier for smaller hands. The sculpted neck heel provides unhindered access to higher frets for blazing solos. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, the Power Players Les Paul is a joy to play.

Authentic Les Paul Tone That Inspires

The Power Players Les Paul owes its lush, dynamic tone to the same tonewood combination as its full-size siblings—a solid mahogany body and set mahogany neck. Epiphone's 700T bridge and 650R neck humbucking pickups faithfully reproduce the warm, thick tone of a Gibson Les Paul. Individual volume and tone controls for each pickup give you full reign over your tone. From warm cleans to snarling overdrive and everything in between, the Power Players Les Paul delivers iconic Les Paul tone that will fuel your creativity.

A Lifetime of Memories Starts Here

Whether it's your first guitar or the latest addition to your collection, the Epiphone Power Players Les Paul is built to last a lifetime. Its durable components and solid construction will provide years of reliable use and hold up to the rigors of practice, performance and touring. An included gig bag, strap, cable and picks complete your Power Players Les Paul package so you'll be ready to rock right out of the box. The Epiphone Power Players Les Paul: your first guitar and your first forever.

Could not tell from photo or description it has a flat top. I thought carved since it has LP Standard style fretboard. I have only played it a little. It seems better than many in the same price range. Gig bag is too thin. I might keep it. 4 star. If a little better I would give 5

  • I would probably not by this Les Paul again

This is the first time I have ever bought and played a Les Paul, the guitar itself is awesome. The fret ends are finished nicely, the only 2 issues I had were the nuts on the tuners were not tight and the strings were junk replaced with primo slinkies and tightened the tuners, all good now. The sound that the pickups produce is better than anything I have played in the last 30 years but I have always been limited to budget guitars for one reason or another, I highly recommend this guitar but replace the strings and make sure the tuner nuts are tight or you'll have issues with it holding tune.

I love this guitar. I have a beginner electric, but wanted a basic Les Paul - this fit the bill. It is affordable, it plays so nicely, and sounds amazing! For beginners or hobbyists, this is a solid instrument.

The quality of this guitar was much better than expected. I got the lava red. Tested it out at the GC and brought it home to my orange cabinet setup. It passed my personal quality check (intonation is good, no wonky frets or string buzz). It sounded awesome for the price with my overdrive and death metal pedals. My girlfriend who complains about having small hands (my other guitars have jumbo or extra jumbo frets) LOVES this and couldn't put it down. She named it Scarlett. I might upgrade Scarlett's pickups some day, but for now she's perfect as is.

I bought this the day they were released at my local store (7/28/2022). We bought the ice blue version. For context, I own many guitars, and my daughter is an SG lover, but she wanted a travel guitar. Fresh out of the box, the action was okay, but the nut really was binding, causing all kinds of tuning issues. When we got it home, I filed the slots and added graphite. It's much better, but I may just replace the nut. No issues with the pickups at all…they sound fine and the wiring is standard LP. The only real quality issue is that the fretboard is so dried out that you can feel the grain. I doused it with orange oil and it's much much better. It's an order of magnitude better than the little Squiers, Ibanezes, Jacksons, and any of the other little travel guitars. My daughter is 5'3", and it looks pretty normal on her, and she loves the thin body…it feels as thin as an Ibanez S. I was really surprised.

I don't care for any of the colors. I would like to sand it to wood and let it breathe. Will I find a chunk of beautiful mahogany, or bits and pieces glued together?

I’m sorry, I don’t know. The Epiphone Power Players Les Paul is not one piece.
