Nancy Wilson Fanatic Signature Guitar

Wilson spec'd a ProBucker FB720 humbucker in the neck position, which has searing tones with a scorching output. In the bridge, it's a ProBucker 3 Slant with an open-coil design. It emulates the sound of a vintage PAF but is slightly overwound to keep up with the neck pickup. Wilson is the queen of rhythm guitar, so it's no surprise that the Fanatic positively roars when attacked. A 5-way switch and master volume and tone controls allow for a wide variety of tonal options.
Your hands will feel at home on the rounded C-shape maple neck. The ebony fretboard has twin parallelogram pearloid inlays. The Nighthawk hardtail bridge is string-thru for maximum tonal transfer to the body. You'll want to protect a guitar that looks and sounds so great; the included hardshell case is just the ticket.

Great guitar

I've played since the 70's and owned dozens of guitars. Some costing 10 times more than this one. But, to me, this is the most enjoyable guitar I've owned. I bought 2 of them! I didn't get them from GC/MF since they were out of stock for a long time. Good to see them back. The Nancy Wilson is much better than the older Epi reissues (I got a couple of those too) This is unique for a Gibson style. The neck is 25.5" scale with a profile similar to newer Epi LP 50's. It's not a 60s thin taper. The fingerboard is ebony with a great feel and the split parallels remind me of the ES175's I've owned in the past (my favorite fingerboard inlay). The neck feel is perfect for me personally. The body is trimmed in the lower bout compared to an LP. That together with the longer neck makes it look a bit odd. But, I like it. There is no noticeable neck dive. It feels good standing or sitting. There is great body resonance. Excellent dynamics, articulation and sustain. The neck Firebird pickup is great! Epi nailed that. The split/tap on the FB pickup is very nice. It drops some output but retains the sweet FB character. Sounds from the 5-way selector are very good, but the split on the bridge doesn't impress me. (I may experiment with a different bridge PU, SD JB maybe. SD JB and 59 are available in "slant") I have one strung lite and one strung more for Jazz. You can dial in a wide range of styles, blues, fusion, jazz, all good. At under $600 it's a no-brainer to at least try it in my opinion.
Epiphone Nails it Again. Great Guitar!

Another fantastic Epiphone model. The guitar at this price point has amazing features. Ebony fret board; HS case/pink lining; 5-way switch, proprietary Humbuckers that really put out the sound, and a figured maple top. And BTW, the maple top match in the middle of the guitar looks better than a lot of many-thousand dollar Gibson's I've seen. Heck, what's not to like. Not sure why the lengthy delay in guitar fulfillment however. I purchased mine 3 or so months ago. And, the place purchased, still shows it in-stock, as available to order?? The pickup's sound great, set up was fine, no sharp frets, no finish issues and nice comfortable weight. Of course each to his or her own but I'm thinking Epiphone has for a while now, started to knock their parent-companies socks off. A great & unique guitar. Order one while you can!
