Matt Heafy Origins Les Paul Custom

Matt Heafy Origins Les Paul Custom

Epiphone

Description

The Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins electric guitar is the highly anticipated signature model of Trivium's lead guitarist. Featuring a mahogany body with a maple top and a mahogany neck, it produces a rich, powerful tone that matches Heafy's pulverizing style. At its heart lies a pair of custom-voiced Fishman Fluence humbucking pickups, each with three distinct voices to explore. Available here at Guitar Center, this premium instrument blends a classic Les Paul silhouette with modern appointments for metal players seeking a balance of tradition and innovation.

Fishman Fluence Pickups Unlock a World of Sounds

The Fluence pickups are the centerpiece of this guitar's sonic capabilities. The alnico neck pickup offers a hot, active humbucker tone; a crisp, clean humbucker sound; and a single-coil tone with scooped mids. The ceramic bridge pickup provides a scorching, active humbucker voice; a high-output passive humbucker tone; and an aggressive single-coil sound. Push-pull volume and tone controls put all these tones at your fingertips, allowing for an astounding array of sounds from searing metal to sparkling cleans.

Timeless Looks Meet Cutting-Edge Playability

Clad in a Bone White finish with gold hardware, the Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins has the iconic elegance of a traditional Les Paul Custom. However, its chambered mahogany body with maple cap provides exceptional comfort and balance for long playing sessions. The mahogany neck has a fast, contoured SpeedTaper D profile and a heel cutaway for easy access to the upper frets. Locking Grover tuners with tulip buttons keep it perfectly tuned through the most punishing riffs.

Premium Components for Premium Tone

From the custom Fishman Fluence pickups to the high-quality hardware, no detail was spared in crafting this signature model. In addition to its chambered body and contoured neck heel, features like a bone nut, aluminum Tune-O-Matic bridge and Orange Drop capacitors in the tone circuit help maximize tone, resonance and playability.

A Complete Package for the Serious Performer

The Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins comes with a hardshell case to properly protect it when not in use. Between its striking looks, wealth of tones and premium components, this signature model delivers exceptional value for the aspiring metal guitarist. I haven't had this guitar for too long and it already has issues. The pick up selector switch doesn't work. And the battery lid won't stay closed. Now it stopped working completely. Thought it might just need a new battery but that didn't fix it. I don't recommend you buy this guitar.

I bought this guitar because I enjoy playing metal, but it's also a great guitar for clean tones. The push/pull knobs offer a lot of range in tone regardless if you have distortion or clean tones. Like others note, there is plastic on the pickups so you'll have to tolerate it until you restring it.

I havent bought a guitar sight unseen in years due to getting burned however, make no mistake you will not regret the decision buying this one. Electronics are incredible and playability is excellent. Have a PRS and Schecter and this compliments my collection like no other. I was initially surprised by the neck shape as the typical "baseball bat" is non-existent but rather a flatter D-shape profile. Not quite Ibanez Wizard like but still somewhat thinner than i was expecting. Sound wise I've been able to go from Santana to RATM to Metallica to Ghost without changing the settings on my amp. The differences in the bridge pup when switching from the active to passive settings are somewhat subtle when you first start messing around but if you are paying attention, you can start to hear the differences tonally. Having said that, I am favoring the more classic/passive setting even playing heavier riffs. I know the price is a little high however, Epiphone is giving Gibson USA a HUGE run for their money with the fit and finish of this axe. if you are on the fence about it, just do it and apologize to your wife/girlfriend later.
