Not what I was expecting
What came in this box package is not what I was expecting. I was just looking for a guitar to play around on and get back to playing. What I got was a solid guitar and a nice little practice amp. The guitar is solid. Good sound from the humbuckers. The action is nice. The strings seem decent but I'm going to change them anyway. The practice amp is just that, a practice amp. Some people complain a lot about practice amps but after all, they are just for practice. This one is solidly built. Good sounds. The clean is clean and the distortion has a hard crunch. Fiddle around with it and you can get a few other tones out of it. It is a great pack for beginners and intermediate players and those of us who haven't played in a few years. I did replace the cable that came with it with a Quantum Audio Designs 10ft cable because the cheap one is really cheap. The tuner that comes with this is tiny, but it does a great job. If you are looking for Les Paul sound with out the Les Paul standard price, this is the one.

You get what you pay for
This guitar pack accomplished two things: 1) it got me playing guitar cheaply and 2) it got me looking forward to replacing it. I am quite amazed how this this has such great reviews. It is very frustrating to play. Any and all chords except for open C, E and G sound out of tune, due to such poor intonation, and that's even after paying $50 extra to have it professionally set up. I'm new to the guitar but I'm not new to music so out of tune chords stand out like a sore thumb to me. Also the fret buzz is pretty bad. I would recommend this guitar to kids and/or those with no musical experience, and then only for a year tops.. Once the fledgling musician demonstrates a commitment, it should be replaced. I was only fully able to appreciate how bad this guitar was after buying a used MiM Stratocaster, which after playing this one, I was amazed at how good it sounded when I plugged it in.

Definitely has trouble staying in tune compared to other guitars I have/have had. Nice looking though and when tuned plays reasonably well. If you are just starting out the guitar and accompanying equipment is adequate. Note: The advertised "free" online lessons that are supposed to come with purchase are inaccessible and the picks were missing as well.
I would buy this again

I bought this pack about 2 months ago to learn on electric with my acoustic. Sounds awesome and you get a Les Paul with a great little amp! Comes with a clip on tuner that works like a champ. For the price, you can't get a better value on a starter combo.

I'd like to purchase a hard case for this guitar. I've seen several reviews that show the reviewed case being to small for the size of the guitar. What Hard cases can you recommend that fit this guitar?

Hi can you hook a drum machine up to the amp
I would not recommend it as the amp in this pack isn't designed for a full range. I would recommend this amp: Simmons DA50 Electronic Drum Set Monitorsubmitted8 years ago
