Epiphone
Description
Made to the Alice in Chains guitarist's specifications, the Epiphone Jerry Cantrell Les Paul Custom Prophecy electric guitar represents the perfect blend of modern and traditional features. It is equipped with a double-bound mahogany body with a maple cap and Ultra Modern weight relief for tone and comfort, a smooth-playing ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets, Grover locking Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech nut for rock-solid tuning stability. Dual custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups deliver three distinct tones: a warm "Patent Applied For" vintage humbucker, hot modern humbucker and a shimmering single-coil, all accessed by push/pull volume and tone pots. Jerry's personal touches abound, including a custom Cantrell neck profile, Circle in Diamond custom fretboard inlays, his name on the truss rod cover, brushed nickel hardware and a JJ circle logo on the rear of the headstock. A custom hardshell case is also included.

Feels great! Looks amazing. Love the sound of the split coils and the fishman PUP voicings. Not really feeling the split coil on the bridge, but that's almost any humbucker, so you get that anywhere. The so-called "vintage" voicing is kinda meh. The "modern" voicing is really good actually. Surprisingly as good as the Gibson SG I own. This guitar has some nasty fret buzz. Took it to my luthier that's worked on many of my other guitars (Gibson SG '61 Reissue - love it!, Fender Strat Blacktop - love it!, etc.) I'm by no means a fanboy or anything, just casual. If there was a way to get rid of that fret buzz on the strings in standard tuning, this would be my go-to axe. Maybe the bridge or nut is not quite right. I don't know, but maybe I'll swap out parts in the future. Fortunately, the buzz doesn't come through the amp. Being an electric guitar, just crank up the amp so you can't hear this acousticly. Overall, love love LOVE the design of the inlays and the Fishman PUPs. This is kind of a glorified Epiphone Prophecy with a nicer paint job and comes with a great unique case. Except for that fret buzz even my luthier of many decades experience couldn't fix, this is a very solid axe. If you like the asymmetrical neck you'll be in love with this one. Also, being one of the few 24 fret guitars is a bonus if you like playing the really high notes.

  • Bone white is quite right!

Many of you are WINO-ING about this JC model. Just look how much better this model is overall, versatility of electronics blows away the wine model IMO

Specs say that this one originated from the USA, can you confirm this came from the states or is it just a misprint?

I’m very sorry for the confusion. It's made in China. Thank you for pointing that out. I will pass it on to our web team.
