Together, these pickups provide a wide range of tones, from warm and smooth to aggressive and snarling.
SlimTaper C Neck and 22-Fret Laurel Fretboard Enable Fast Playing
The Epiphone Firebird features a smooth-playing SlimTaper C profile neck made from mahogany and walnut. Its slim, rounded shape provides comfort and speed, allowing intricate solos and rapid chord changes. I jam with my friends twice a week with this guitar. It has an incredible tone, and really cuts through the mix of four other guitars. Easy playing, great feel.

This Guitar plays magnificent! So Smooth! I don't care if it was made in China. It plays and sounds great. Once I pick it up I just cannot put it down. I had a Gibson Firebird classic before and it never played this good, no matter what I did! I can't say enough about this Guitar. It is about 2 lbs lighter than the original Gibson firebird. The Grover tuner are so much better than the old original tuners that were terrible and clunky. I Love American made Gibson Guitars and have 2, but this guitar cannot be beat for the price! I honestly wouldn't take what I paid for it right now.
Very nice Firebird!

Other than adjusting the string height, it was good to go! I was able to compare this guitar to the name-brand model, and it held it's own very well (especially considering the cost). The pickups sound very good, and the overall playability is very nice. Would recommend. #sweepstakes

Bought on a whim. The set-up was terrible out of the box. Replaced everything with genuine Gibson parts for about $400. Love the guitar now that it's set-up and upgraded.
Stand out from the crowd!

A classic that everyone knows - but few will have! I've heard some complaints in early reviews about the toggle switch. Perhaps they've upgraded because mine feels really solid. The guitar is thin so it's much lighter that you'd think (mine is about 7 lbs) It came set up and the intonation perefctly right out of the box. No fret buzz anywhere. Are the frets perfect? Well.. not at this price range. But a little dressing and polishing and the guitar will be hard to distinguish from its Gibson counterpart. Really cool sound - somewhere between a humbucker and P90. Thus guitar is definitely a keeper!
Totally impressed

I own many guitars, but never was a fan of Gibson. Liked the look of the Firebird and actually needed that particular guitar for a few numbers in my band, so decided to try it out. I am VERY impressed with this guitar. Out of the box looks were perfect, not a flaw. Played pretty decently out of the box, but did adjust the action a bit (as I usually do with all my new guitars) to set it to my personal taste. Played great. No fret buzz no other problems. Plugged it in and was really impressed. The tone is excellent. Oddly I like the neck PU better than the bridge one. I usually keep most of my other guitars on the humbucker bridge pickup, but this guitar sounds real good on the neck pickup. This is a larger guitar, and I am a woman but there is nothing difficult about playing this. Neck is very comfortable to play. The neck is also off set, I'd call it forward more, so reaching the first fret does feel like you are playing a bass, but it didn't bother me or disrupt my playing surprisingly. It is pretty balanced, especially when its strapped and you stand. That is probably the MOST comfortable way to play this guitar! Again suprised. As for it being an Epiphone, I can only say I played a Nighthawk once before and thought it was fine and played nice but never played any other Ep's. This Firebird has somewhat blown me away. I absolutely can't imagine a Gibson being much better. I have Strat's and a Squier. Big difference in quality. Have lower end Ibanez and a high end one, all can plainly tell the difference in quality. Hard to believe this Epiphone would be much different than a Gibson. I will actually go to music store and play a Gibson just to compare them. Also saw a review on here someone said they had a problem that their fingers or tips hurt playing this guitar. I had that slightly the first day I played it too. But not bad. By the next day no problem. I wrote it off to the 'offset' neck. Just using my fingers a bit different than all my other guitars because of neck placement. Wasn't and issue for me the next day or since. Highly recommend the Epiphone Firebird. Epiphone has made me a fan. Will look very cool playing it at my gigs too.
