Description

Epiphone presents the EB-3 SG Bass, a stunning recreation of the iconic bass that shaped the sound of rock. This modern SG Bass has the tone and feel of the original without the vintage price tag. The EB-3 SG Bass quickly became one of the most distinctive basses after its introduction, with rock legends like Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones, Jack Bruce of Cream, and The Who's John Entwistle making history on SG-style basses.

Mahogany Body and Neck Provide Exceptional Sustain

The EB-3 SG Bass has a mahogany body and neck, which provide wonderfully warm bass response and exceptional sustain. The mahogany construction captures the organic and vintage-sounding tone suitable for rock and a variety of other musical styles.

Powerful Pickups Recreate Iconic SG Bass Sound

The EB-3 SG Bass features a Sidewinder humbucking pickup in the neck position and an NYT Bass mini-humbucker at the bridge. These pickups are designed to authentically recreate the iconic sound of the original SG basses from the '60s that shaped rock music.

Longer Scale Length Adds Tonal Depth

With its 34" scale length, the EB-3 SG Bass has a longer scale than a standard bass for added tonal depth and fuller low end. The longer scale provides tighter, more focused lows and a piano-like quality to the midrange.

    Smooth and sweet

    I own a fender precision bass that I love and play all the time, my volume control on that broke so now i had a reason to get a new bass. At first I was a little skeptical about the EB-3, but when i went to a store to play it my first reaction was WOW!! The pickups soumd great, the action is amazing, and forget about the looks.. it is one sweet lookin bass guitar. Looks graet sounds great, its for a great price BUY It!

    this is the second bass i have owned. i got it about 2 years ago when i was really into the "sg" look. it is a great looking bass over-all and will get a lot of looks. the seem-less neck to body construction give it a ridiculous amount of sustain. bridge design is great other then the saddle adjustments are hard to get to. the one thing that continues to impress me is its ability to stay in tune. the pickup selector is an amazing feature that i wish was on more basses, and the double humbuckers sound great. having said this, the neck width is too thin for my liking. often times when im playing my fingers will jam up because the action is a little awkward during faster fills. another major flaw is the weight distribution. this bass is VERY TOP HEAVY, meaning you will be supporting the neck as you play which slows playing down. also in a minor note, pinch-harmonics and chords are harder to do on this bass. all in all, a pretty good blues or starter bass, but if your going for more advanced playing then i would save your money and find a better bass like a higher end ibenez or a spector.

      Traded in an Ibanez Soundgear bass for this Epiphone SG. The Soundgear had curved pickups so it was hard to get the strings to sound even. This SG plays so much better

      I used to have a 60's Gibson EB3, Epiphone has done that old classic proud. Mine plays just like I remember. The fretboard is comfortable and fast. The sound has that classic Gibson EB mellow but can still punch when you need it to. Although this is primarily my backup Bass, every now and then I'll go for it just for that special mellow sound.

      Bass came with neck pick up not working .Called and was told to use return label , Went to UPS and it costs me $76 to send it back . Never again !

      Great Bass, great quality for the price. Can't get a proper Epiphone case for it. Would have paid the extra money for the case.

      If this is 34" bass, would this make playing (for someone who has smaller hands) uncomfortable and is this a good beginner bass or is the eb-0. Thank you for your time

      No, this is short scale - 30". Scale length is not a factor when considering hand size. Many full scale basses have very slim necks. A full scale - 34" - sounds better.

      Why does this come up on the Search when filtering for Short Scale Basses, and why was a previous Question about it answered saying that its a Short Scale... when its being advertised as a 34" LONG Scale?
