I have been using these speaker for 7 years now going on 8 and boy oh boy, have these speakers been abused. These are an amazing pair of speakers that just don't quit or die on me and I have really pushed them to the limit every single time! Before buying my first powered speakers I did research for about a year before making my purchase, specially how much money I was going to spend. My final two options came down to the QSC and EV. The only reason why I did not buy the QSC was because they had been out in the market for way too long already and the EV had newer technology that could be better then the QSC. All I can say is that I made the perfect decision when I picked the EV. The clarity that they have even when the limiter is blinking non stop they sound amazing. I have played these speakers non stop for hours at a time with the limiter going off the whole party. Yes, the QSC have more gain, but the distortion they produce defeats the purpose of having more gain if they are not going to produce clear sound. One of the main selling points that made me get an EV speakers was that before EV launches a speaker product they stress test their speakers 10,000 hours at peak levels playing from all sorts of music to make sure the speakers don't die out on their customers. All I can say is WOW!! because I have really put these speakers to the test, and after 7 years, they are still going strong, like new. I could not be happier with my purchase. I'm looking into upgrading to the ETX 15p with the 18p Subs. If the EKX sound amazing, I can't wait for my upgrade. Trust me you will not be disappointed with these speakers.. I will keep them and used them for small karaoke events or monitors when I get my new set.

Great sounding and very nice looking speakers as others have posted and would recommend to anyone. Speakers feel solid. Con: I wish it came w two handles instead of one. Don't get me wrong, I love its weight but definitely used a helper to set them on a tripod. The one thing I would ask EV is to include a normal mode on the DSP and this is my biggest gripe. I get it, the pre included modes but if I needed to shape the sound I would simply eq it myself. I found that the music mode worked best for me (dj-ing) some have stated they prefer the live mode wish i disapproved immediately when first tested. Last, I noticed a light rattle in back of cabinets (fan area) when playing loud music. Rattling was caused by the low frequency. EV advised me to open cabinet and check for loose screw or ship it to them. This happened with both speakers. When they rattle they could only be heard from the back and does not affect the sound in anyway but Im afraid this will annoy me in the long wrong. Due to these items in question and the fact that both my ekx subs arrived with minor damage to the exterior, I may end up returning them. Again I do like and recommend them, and hope I didn't confuse anyone. Just an honest review or my thoughts. By they way, I have own a set of EV zxa1 and zxa1 sub, and I'm still totally in love with them. Go EV!

  • Go for it.

I own a nightclub in the US Virgin Islands and GC came to my rescue and gave me options to buy professional EV speakers at a good price.
