EVH

collapse expand iconDescription

Based on the original artwork Eddie created for the guitars he rocked the stages with during Van Halen's heyday of the late-'70s through the early '90s, this line of EVH guitars includes three-color combos, white with black stripes, black with yellow stripes (both sold separately), and this version, red with black and white stripes. Underneath the recognizable artwork are basswood Stratocaster-style bodies with quartersawn maple necks, a hand-rubbed oil finish and thumbwheel truss rod adjustment, compound-radius maple fingerboard (12"–16") with 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays, plus a single ferocious direct-mount Wolfgang humbucking pickup.

Other premium features include a single volume control knob, single-ply black pickguard (on the white and black striped model only), bar string retainer and Floyd Rose locking nut, EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo with EVH D-Tuna, EVH die-cast tuners, chrome hardware, vintage-style strap buttons and EVH neck plate.

A case is sold separately.

i will keep this one

Out of the box was ok. was able to setup 1mm action on 12th fret with very minimal buzz. I would have given it a 5, but the floyd was bottomed out against the tail end. Pulling the d tuna out can scratch the guitar. Proper floyd is setup parallel to the body. this setup cannot be set up to pull sharp and have the d tuna work properly. I put a back brace inside the guitar against the sustain block. Easy job, although some people who don't work on guitars allot will have an issue. It was like it is shipped incomplete. If you set it up like a regular floating floyd, the second you pull the d tuna out, your tuning is all out of wack. For a Fender made product, this mexican made guitar is priced to give EVH probably and additional $300 in royalties. , and will say that there is extra care put into it than other mexican made guitars i own such as the fender made jacksons.

Don't know if I would buy this again.

I received my evh striped series in july, black and yellow, and I was wondering if the guy in the video playing the red and white evh is using any pedals because my guitar sounds nothing like his. I put in a screaming demon pickup two weeks ago and my guitar still sounds nothing like I thought. I bought this guitar because of the way it sounded in the guitar center video, wish mine sounded like that.

Great playing guitar! Tone is about what your fingers can do and no one will ever sound like Eddie. But this can get you in the ballpark . Fly like a bumblebee on this neck and dive bomb like a bird eating the bumblebee on the floyd rose! This guitar might just put you in a trance to become the next atomic punk and make you jump hahaha(evh reference)

My wife surprised me with the EVH red & black stripe series last week. I'm having a hard time explaining what an absolute beast this guitar can be. I started playing in 1975 and have had many "high quality" guitars, but this one??? It might as well say "Made at the North Pole"! The best quality instrument that l've ever owned. It felt like a gift from the master himself. Get one, you'll be glad you did.

  • I highly recommend this to any guitarist

This is an absolute hot rod! Play's and sounds great. Down side is that you will have to have a set up after purchasing. D-Tuna can be a bit of trouble if not set up correctly so expect to be out an additional 50-60 bucks
