Dunlop
Description
Originally only available as part of the Kirk Hammett Pick Tin, players can now get Kirk Hammett’s personal pick in a 6-piece Player’s Pack.

Once the axe-wielding Metallica madman first got his hands on a Jazz III pick, he never looked back—its superior speed, precision and control changed his whole playing experience. Eventually, he took to customizing it himself for even better handling by cutting a V-shape out of the grip.

Based on that modification, Dunlop created the Kirk Hammett Signature Jazz III Pick so you can keep a regular supply of the same pick Hammett uses on the road and in the studio.

I was never a fan of jazz picks, until I found these. They're easy to get a good grip on. Sensitive enough to allow full dynamic control. And they last longer than any other guitar picks I've ever used.

I used many different styles and size picks. I really love the Jazz 3, but then I found these and they are the best for me. I play mild rock to thrash metal and these cover them all.

I was using the Dunlop tortex 1.14 mm. In terms of sound, thanks to the pointy tip it is clearer, but it's also just a little bit quieter. The pointy tip also helps to pluck easier compared to the more rounded tip of the tortex. You have to apply way less force when plucking, which even you may think that it does not make a difference, but it does when plucking fast. Having a smaller pick with its "heart" shaped top helped me to grab it better even when having pretty big hands. It also feels easier to put the pick where you want to since is almost at the tip of your fingers. What I don't like is that the material makes it feel slippery very easy. To solve this, I just wrapped a piece of tape in the upper half, and now it feels much better. It really makes a difference with the piece of tape. I really recommend it if you play fast music like thrash metal. I really like this product.
