Gnx 4 worth the money

The gnx 4 is a great board for what it is designed for.It is designed as a work station not to be run into an amp really as is.You do not really wnat to run this in front of your preamp if u have a tubee, instead run it into the efx return.Gnx is best through head phones for practice or into board direct. If u want to run into amp try bbe behind it or turn off spk sim and turn down tone controls and presence or will get very fuzzy. Great unit for what it was designed for.
The most awesome board

2 years ago I researched multi effects boards and decided hands down on the gnx4, I bought it for my son. He loves it, it is part of his sound; a PRS, fender tube and his gnx4. It does all the things they claim, it is awesome.. so I'm not going to sit here and rewrite all the great features. Just say that this board is still going strong after 2 years,(constant use) the power supply cord broke from years of winding it up and that was easy to replace. But it made me realize how valuable this is to him and if got lost or stolen he would be in trouble, so I bought another one. I'm not rich, if I were I would have bought 10. This board is going to be a part of his sound for a long time. I bought three extra things, the foot control, gig bag and the mfxsupermodels..
The Perfect Practice Partner

I started out by researching everything i could to find what was best for my needs as a part time guitar teacher. What I had learned is that the GNX4 had the most to offer as a teacher and definately the best bang for the buck. It allows you to create seemless jam loops on the fly hands free as well as offering up an endless supply of tones to create and effects to play with, and let us not forget a really decent midi drum machine and a digital 8 track recorder. You do need to spend the time to learn to use this machine, it's not to difficult but the extra effort is well worth it. A tip for those of you buying or currently using this machine is that you want to run the "output" to your amps "effects return" and your guitar directly into the unit it's self for the best sound quality. This simple setup keeps the two preamps from clashing and causing tons of noise and poor tone. For the best sound possible a small PA setup is best overall, this allows the true amp modeling to shine through, the reasoning behind this is that a PA has a flat EQ signal and as we all know amps each have their own sounds and is what sets each company apart. So if your looking for the ultimate practice tool to keep you sharp and give you some toys to play with too, look no further! Also there is a wealth of information on the GNX4 at guitarworkstation.com. Thank you for your time and i hope this helped some of you looking for a great inexpensive practice tool with tons to offer!

I got this as a Christmas gift when it first came out and it's still a staple in my home studio. It says 80 factory 80 user but if you get a Compact Flash card you get an additional 80 patches! It has way more i/o options than with similar products, I run my rig in stereo so it's a huge plus. 2 to a stereo track in pro tools the other 2 to my guitar amps that's a ton of tonal variety in one take.

Got this the other week. Even though I'm a beginner guitarist, I really find the drum machine portion of this device very helpful. I have never really gotten used to a metronome yet. What I like about this device is the flexibility it provides since it includes so many functions. I'm not anywhere near scratching the surface of what it can do, obviously, but over time, I think this thing will keep me from spending money on stomp boxes that are not needed.
