Great job from Digitech

This is not the first foot controller I have owned, but it is by far the best. USB communications allow you to accomplish almost anything. MIDI access, Microphone w/phantom power, XLR output...it's got it all. I've used it at gigs and it's been kicked around during practices. Beware...you WILL have to read the manual if you want to take advantage of all it has to offer. Or...you can be like a typical human and only use less than 10% of it's brain. Another member in my band has the Line 6 Pod XT, and it works great, but it's peripheral options are limited compared to the GNX3000. I guess the only draw back that I have is that the rubber floor stoppers are wimpy...they are glued to the bottom instead of being screwed in, and i have had to superglue a couple of them back into place. Other than that...it's well built. I've been happy with it so far.
GNX3000, a recording nightmare

I have found this box difficult to use, popping, drop outs, and distorted timing of tracks, and better sound cards didn't stop the problem. Unfortunately I found an easier to use system with the sound card for a 10th of the cost. the manual is as fat as our phone book and understandable, I'm sure, only to techs.
Nice multi-effect pedal for recording

I bought this pedal about 6 months ago from GC and I really do love it. I find the factory presets very useable and it has tube like clarity and tone. The whammy pedal alone is awesome on this pedal. The USB connectivity is awesome and makes recording to PC a breeze. The USB is also great for downloading or uploading new patched to and from the GNX3000. So you can keep a backup of all your settings on a PC/Mac. I advise you to spend some time with the manual it will pay off. I have not played with the drum machine. It is not as good as a standalone drum machine but I believe it is a helpful tool for jamming and practice. I find this pedal to be authentic in tone and I do not hear any digital quality. So it fits my recording purposes wonderfully. I have not used this pedal Live so I cannot comment on live use. There is a lag between switching presets and that could be an issue for live use.

I love this pedal. It has a number of great factory pre-sets, and has a lot of power. I had to get a bigger amp to handle the output. There are a number of drum settings to play with, and it has all the effects you could want. My bass player loves the bass effects as well. However, if you don't like digital effects, then you may want to pass this one up. The computer software can be a pain in the rear. The directions for how to use the software aren't the best either. I've had mine almost a year, and I'm still tinkering with the recording program. My biggest complaint would be about tech support. Digitech's people seem confused by how this pedal and software interact. That aside, it is a fun toy for the guitar. There literally is a sound for every mood on this thing.

Well, this pedal looks and sounds like it would be amazing. All the features, and the recording software, and all the tone control, and amp modeling. One problem, digitech doesnt really make that great of gear. It sounds kinda computerized, and nothing like a really good effects pedal. A good example is the distortion. It is really muddy and it sounds like tone off of Powertabs (a computer tabbing program). Basicly, if you HAVE to get a multi-effects board, got a Boss. Seriously, don't even touch this one guys.

I have owned this thing for about 6 months now, and all I can say is that this is the best modeler out there right now. Line 6 may have the best effects, but if you want a certain amp tone then get this. This thing is loaded with dozens of effects (including digitechs whammy pedal and ips) along with around 40 guitar, bass, and acoustic amp models, and 25 cabinet models. There are to many features to list, so go look them up. With this pedal you can hook right up to your computer and record with the included cakewalk pro tracks software. If you are a tone junkie and want that mesa, marshal, or any other amp tone you can think of then this is a must, but if you are more about effects then I would recomend the line 6 pod xt. Overall this thing is amazing!
