for about 2 years i used the gnx3 on church(playing different styles of music)4 times on a week and mi idea of digitech dindt change at all: sounds are good, but thats all, most of it (specially distortions) sounds like a toy, when you use the expression pedal as a whammy, it sounds really poor.and the WORST are the switches ,just 5 or 6 months latter of purchase began to fail, the drum machine and record feature are ok for fun. so,my advice:do not buy this.

I bought this pedal years ago when it was the top of digitech's line. Even at the $500 price tag back then it was a great deal for the price. The only problems I have with it is the recording program is a little weak, the built in drum machine is pretty much a glorified metronome, and it only has a MIDI connection to link it to a computer. Other than that I have used it to record numerous songs and its great when you just want to jam but cant get the band together, just lay a couple of backing tracks and wail away. I've had mine for a few years now and it still works like new. The only pedal I would even consider using after owning this onw is maybe the GNX4 for the better drum machine and the USB connection.

I got this pedal about a week ago and love it! It can put out some crazy sounds! I run it through a 100 watt Marshall with a Les Paul and get great sounds. The only downfall is it using a Smart Media Card. (I got a converter and a XD Card for about half of what a 128 Smart Media card would cost)

I love everything about the pedal except for the computer recording software it comes with. All of the CDs say that you need to buy the full version because they are demos. And the one full version CD that it comes with is no longer in service so that means its website doesnt exist anymore which means that there is no way to download tracks.

I go this petal about a year ago and it rocks. It can crank out some crazy distortion and a sweet clean tones for arpegio. The only thing that I don't like is it is hard to switch from things like flanger to trigphaser during live gigs and that you are confined to presets but other than that its good.

I originally purchased this pedal in store at a Guitar Center. It is a pretty good pedal, with a lot of effects including a good 50-70 presets. You can alter the presets yourself, and resave them as your own names. There are many things to tweak, as the pedal offers many options such as "noisegate", "treble, mid, high knobs", "reverb and delays" and "warp". There are a lot more features, and it gets a little confusing at first. After reading the manual, you will start to understand it more. The GNX3 is a tank though, i've dropped mine a few times, and it hasn't even showed a bit of damage. It is virtually indestructible if you use it properly, not if you mistreat it. It is very easy to use with the floor pedals. The only thing i didn't like about it was the sound quality, and i thought that the interface could of had a less sensetive wah pedal. Overall it is a good pedal for live and recording purposes.
