DiMarzio

Description

No humbucking pickup sounds exactly like a vintage single-coil, but the Cruiser is about as close as it gets. The special dual-resonance design allows one coil to act as a woofer and the other as a tweeter. This extends the range of the noise-canceling design and allows the best qualities of each coil to be enhanced while fine tuning the output. There is less magnetic pull, and it still sounds clean, clear, and bright. Output: 140mV.

Recommended for neck position with DP187, or neck & middle with hotter bridge like Fast Track 1, Chopper, Pro Track, or full-size humbuckers (See recommended accessories box on this page).

This pickup fit the bill. I was looking for a very clear, relatively low output pickup that I could chime clean tones or roar hot tones with no 60 cycle hum. This pickup met all my requirements and expectations. I especially liked the solid bars which completely eliminates sound dropout while bending strings. The clear tone and pick attack sensitivity remains constant no matter where your string is placed.

Great neck position pickup.I also use this pickup in the middle position too.Well balanced sound.Good sounds for blues and rock. I have the Dimarzio AT-1 pickup in the bridge position. This is a great combination.I have a strat set-up with these in it. I love the sound so much that when i built a guitar i put these same pickups in it.Whats nice about pick ups is when you crank up the volume control on the guitar it has a overdrive sound to it. Then turn down the volume control and it cleans up nicely.

i have used this pickup in both the neck and bridge positions of my mim strat and have never had another pickup that work as well for so many different styles of music. in the neck it gives off beautiful clean and overdriven tones and in the bridge it gives just enough bite for both heavy blues and even metal. suprisingly i prefer this pickup to my duncan jb for metal tones it exibits incredible balance while accentuating high mids and lows incredibly well. i highly recommend it for players who have expanded musical tastes.

The Cruiser is one of the greatest replacement for single coils p/us in the neck position of the "Strat". It exhibits the characteristics of the alnico magnets used in vintage pick-ups, without the noise and the string pull. Though its output is somewhat lower than the other p/us one may use in their guitars, such as the Air Norton or the Chopper, it is by no means a fault. The Cruiser sounds fabulous through an over-driven front end, with solid lows and crisp highs all the way up the neck. One of my faves!

I recently added this PUP at the neck position in my Yamaha along with a Dimarzio Chopper in the middle position. The two PUPs are form a great well-rounded duo. This PUP has excellent highs and mids and gives a nice crisp clean sound. The PUP is also dead quite, a true humbucker!

These pickups are just mind-boggling. Their sound really is remarkably true to a single coil, but I can sit down next to my Carvin V3 with the Drive knob dimed and not hear a thing unless I play. My Tone Zone in the same guitar, however, does have hum (just not 60-cycle). I have one of these in the neck and another in the middle position. My guitar (mostly Carvin parts) is wired for 3 positions: B, M+N, N. The neck and middle position gives a great tone, both smooth, chimey, and warm. The neck position is very wooden, just like a real single coil. The rails give NO discrepancy between strings; everything comes across evenly. These pickups aren't your 'jack-of-all-trades,' (unless you like Yngwie's tone) but they sound fantastic in a very wide range of applications.
