Denon DJ

Description

The Denon DN-D6000 Dual CD MP3 Player is well-suited to any type of DJ and an unattended playback on power-up function makes the DN-D6000 great for bars and restaurants at opening time as well. The DN-D6000 features a dual-unit rackmountable design with separate player and remote units for convenience.

MP3 capability includes seamless looping with B Point Trim, scratching, hot starts, and MP3 effects; CBR and VBR (constant or variable bit rate) encoding up to 320kbps; ID3 Tags to display title, artist and album; and an MP3 File Search System to quickly and easily locate files.

Play files from the same disc back-to-back with the DN-D6000's next track reserve function: simply search for a song by name, then crossfade seamlessly to that file for a smooth, nonstop mix. The crossfade time is adjustable, and next track reserve is also available for CD audio discs.

The DN-D6000 includes 4 essential effects: filter, flanger, echo, and echo loop (loop a 1/4 beat up to an 8/1 beat indefinitely, so you can overlay another track or even a new disc for a seamless mix). Also features quick loading Slot-In drives; 15-second sampler with pitch, B-Trim, volume control, and 3-way playback (loop/single/all) edit options; platter effects including drag-start, brake, and reverse effects that can be used for MP3 or CD audio discs; 2 seamless loops; B Point loop Trim; 70mm jog disc; and a 3-way BPM counter (automatic, tapping, manual). Fast Search/Manual Search and Quick Jump makes searching fast and easy, so you can literally "jump" around within a CD or MP3 track using precise adjustable increment time steps.

For the ultimate in control and feel during live performance, a platter hold function provides pitch bend by the scratch disc of up to 100%. Instant start (0.02 seconds) and 20-second shockproof memory ensure instant audio playback and uninterrupted performance. In addition, the DN-D6000 features a fader start control terminal that's compatible with all Denon DJ mixers, and 17 customizable preset functions so you can tailor it to your needs.

With the massive rise in Traktor/Serato/Ableton/Wiki-wiki-wannabe DJ software, this is the last real option for DJs who use those pretty little silver records. Fast, intuitive controls make any function easily accessible without having to whip out a flashlight and "OMG find out what knobs do!" Single decks are still advancing, but don't rackmount and add bulk to a portable system. Even in a permanent installation, a dualdeck allows for more efficient use of space and less elbow-bump-prone locating. As for features, it's got everything I could ever want and a million different customizations for each feature. Adjustable range for speed and pitch control, quick and good-sounding effects, and good haptic feedback/feel. No control is either too tight/heavy or too flimsy-feeling. In one permanent installation I've used this model, it eventually succumbed to the control unit crashing when it was issued too many commands before the drive could respond, but at that point it'd been more abused and had beer and smoke through it than I have. It isn't indestructible, but it takes a boozing and keeps on oontzing.

ive used many dual cd players including the numark cdn 88-95s as well as table tops, and i have to say the 6000s are a great piece of equipment. They are very responsive and 100% reliabe, ive had mines for 2 years without a single problem so far. The only complaint is that the bpm readout is usually off by 1,but this is easily fixed by using the tap. The 6000s are equal to the 3500s but in rack mount form. On the info page it says they are not cdr/crw compatible but they in fact are.If you are looking for a high end top of the line cd player for clubs and private parties go with the 6000s.
