My Goodtime 2 banjo fits inside like a glove! the padding is excellent. The latch work is smooth and very durable. Definitely a good investment to protect my musical investment!
Deering banjo case

Very fine instrument case, and accordingly very expensive. This is way more of a case than an amateur banjo player (guitars, harmonicas, some keyboard, concertina are my instruments)like myself would ever need, but the only one I could find anywhere to fit an open back Deering Goodtime. For serious musicians, anybody who will be traveling a lot with the banjo, this is a great case.
Lugging a Load

My Deering Banjo came with an incredible case. The Sierra Banjo, as is often the "case" with quality banjos, is extremly heavy. However, the balance and ease of the handle placemnt and such allows me to lug a load in an easier manner. The case appears to be made along the lines of my Taylor Guitar Case. Both Deering and Taylor make quality instruments and provide extremely strong and durable cases. Lugging a load is enjoybale especially when the case is opened and a quality instrument is displayed.

Do you ever see/sell used banjo cases? I have a Deering beginners good time banjo and don't want to spend a lot of $ on a case. Will any 5-string banjo case do? It is an open back banjo.
