I adore this amp simply because of the fact that it's essentially a reissued Randall RG100. Now everybody knows that Randalls are the best solid state heads that money can buy, and this doesn't disappoint. I love and trust Dean, I already have 3 of their guitars, and this didn't let me down. I was somewhat disappointed with the sound I was getting until I discovered that the problem was the cheap Raven cab that I got with it, but after plugging it into my friend's line 6 spider IV cab that I loathe with a passion, it sounded amazing even through that. Great scooped sound that can even reach the sick amount of tight gain on songs like Walk and Cowboys from heck, with a little tweaking. One of the most useful features is the separate effects loops, which allow me to have a good chorus clean on the clean channel without it interfering at all when I switch to the distortion channel. Also, I have a 20 foot stereo extension cable that I plug in to the line out jack and plug earbuds into for live monitoring without cutting off the speaker outputs. The only downside is that you MUST get the footswitch or you'll be switching channels by turning the channel volumes up and down, as both channels are always on without it and there's no channel switch button. Also, a separate EQ for the clean channel would've been nice, but the gain channel is 5 stars alone. I'd get it again in a second, just make sure you have a worthy cab. The heavy duty metal handles in the sides are also tremendously helpful and ARE NOT gonna break. The Dime cab is supposed to be great, but I don't like it because the sparkle grill is pretty unmanly. Just sayin.

Amazing crushing real tone! This amp does not sound fake at all like most solid state heads on the market. Which means the tone will change when you switch guitars or pickups. The "boost" switch should be called the "DIME" switch. It gives you the DIME tone, lowers the amps volume a hair and doesnt "boost" anything. I keep the boost switch on all the time because without it the amp doesnt have enough gain for real metal. Its more of a rock tone. NON Boost= Randall 100 tone, with Boost= Randall 100 with Dime's additional tone, eq and gain. For $399 this amp is amazing!

I bought this amp solely because im a huge dimebag fan, I also own a Randall RG100es which dime also used for many years and they are very similar in sound with the exception that you need to equalize the Randall much more. This amp head is a beast, if used with a nice set of pickups you can get any tone you want. The amps gain alone is pretty good, but if you want shred your head off gain add an overdrive in front of it and you get that top of the line dime tone. I use a les paul with a pair of blackouts which have huge amounts of gain as well as a dime razorback with the dimebucker, and you get that balls out metal tone. Dime was famous for his tone and sound. If you want his sound or something similar to what he had you have to get a Dime D100 head. The best sounding amp ive ever heard in a while.

This amp is a monster. It is very loud, the reverb is pretty good, and it seems very durable. The clean channel sounds like a top of the line amp. The dirty channel, however, doesn't crunch out a heavy metal tone, because of the type of guitar i use... but it is good for classic rock and new rock. When I run a stomp box into it though, it really brings out a great tone. My only complaint is that there isnt eqs for the 2 channels seperate... but for $350 this amp is well worth it

I bought one of these to replace my Randall RG100ES. Yup, that's right I own both, and I can tell you they're a lot alike! When I boost my Randall and put an EQ in the loop, it sounds just like this amp does right out of the box! So its pretty heavy, you can do some good metal. But I strongly suggest putting a boost infront of it and an EQ in the loop because you can get some disgusting amounts of tight gain from this baby. The reverb is kind of cheesy and my knobs keep falling off and the logo on the front is ugly, but the clean channel sounds just like This Love and the lead channels sounds just like Walk. \m/(>.<)\m/
