DW Classics Series 3-Piece Shell Pack Natural Mahogany Natural Chrome Hardware

Description
It also features DW's patented STM (suspension tom mount) system, which allows drums to vibrate independently, allowing maximum resonance while securely holding the drum in place. Because there are no washers or grommets inhibiting the lug rod receiver, choking is reduced and tuning is as easy as ever.
To give drummers even more control over their sound, DW created its patented True-Pitch rod system. The rods feature 5mm threads rather than the 12/24 that's standard on most other drums. To compare, there is 1 thread every 0.8mm on True-Pitch rods (about 20% more threads), versus 1 thread every 1.05mm on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process.
Crested by chrome hardware, this shell pack features a 13" x 9" rack tom, a 16" x 16" floor tom and a 24" x 14" kick drum. Snare, cymbals and hardware sold separately.

I bought one set online from Memphis Drum shop, (DW Classic natural Mahogany 3 piece). 12 yrs. ago, came in perfect condition. The lable in each drum did not have pitch noted, but the set sounds wonderful if tuned well. My set is 12', 16" 24", I added the Tama 14" wood finish SLP Snare. I do not gig these drums, or even move them out of my house. The non finished natural finish would even stain if it was sneezed on or waxed, or oiled, or had coffee spilt on it or anything. I guess I like the beauty, but want to keep it looking as pristine as it can sound. Expensive, they were a superize gift so no worries about the cost. The sound of the 12" step down to the 16" is fine, it's actually dynamic and for a small set it works well. I use Remo clear emperor & pinstripe heads. Ambasador resonant bottom heads. To me, it's a soft hitting kit, tone is variable upon different attack. This is not rockn roll tour kit, but something you use for respectful attack! As for Gutiar Ctr. I got my Bonham kit there, its vistalite, amber and the opposit of the DW, this is a big rockin set. Got it 17 yrs. ago, online, and picked up in Fontana Ca. store. The store was fantastic to pick up from, they stayed open a couple min. for me to load up my 50th B-day set. These are monster sounding all the way down to soft tone attack. These drums can do anything sound wise. Any attack can be registered! If I had to choose, the Ludwigs are my favorite. Again, Remo clear Emperor / Pinstripe on these with Remo Ambasador on resonant bottoms. The Kit came with the heavy hardware, and was in good shape. I added the Pastie 2002 cymbals 24" on down, full set. Fantastic sound, authentic application of the Bone's choice, and so versital in sound. (attack responsive). These drums are very pretty to look at, great sounding, I see / hear why Bonham used them.
