DR Strings

Description

DR Hi-Beams stainless steel bass strings are round wound and constructed upon a round core which is unique in the industry. Hi-Beams require much more time, care and extra steps to make than other bass strings. The extra effort DR expends making Hi-Beams results in a bass string that is highly flexible, musically bright (not harshly bright) and renowned for durability, unusually long life, consistency and string-to string balance. They don't eat your frets. Hi-Beams are the string to choose for brightness, and ease of playing. DR H-Beams fit virtually all scale lengths up to 37-3/4".

Perfect. Great strings I use these on all of my Lakland Basses.

  • Bright top end, punchy lows.

I've been playing for 25 plus years and these strings have been very reliable on various gigs, I'm gigging in the NY/NJ area 4-6 times per week between two bands and session work. what like the most is the punchy low end on my Carvin 5 string, the brightness doesn't overpower the low end especially when i'm using a pick for certain rock gigs.

These strings are kind of harsh feeling. I greatly prefer Dunlop super brights. They are also round wounds, but I believe they are on a hex core. They are smoother to the fingers and make less fret noise. Steel has more pronounced mids and a "growl", whereas nickle is softer sounding with more pronounced highs.

These strings would still be compatible.
