DR Flatwound Legend 5

By Aeolianman

from Reno, Nevada

Comments about DR Strings Flatwound Legend 5-String Bass Medium:

I wanted a set of flatwounds on one of my basses for the country and classic rock selections one of my bands play. These strings are perfect. They provide a warm mellow tone, yet are quick and a touch crisp. They feel smooth and silky. Very easy to pluck. They are easier to play on some of the fast, snappy stuff that I do than the roundwounds they replaced.

Comments about DR Strings Flatwound Legend 5-String Bass Medium:

These strings have a very flat dull sound which worked well with a couple of my Bass's that were very bright and twangy sounding and they get rid of a lot of the pick noise which I like.

Comments about DR Strings Flatwound Legend 5-String Bass Medium:

I buy the 5-string set and string my Jack Casady Epiphone 4 string BEAD.
I prefer the flat wound's over DR's drop down round wounds and over Ernie Ball Cobalt flats as well.
Fat sound with more growl to the ounce.

Comments about DR Strings Flatwound Legend 5-String Bass Medium:

I have a Steinberger Spirit 5-string bass with string adapter so it can use non-double-ball strings. I love the sound of flat-wound strings - a mellower sound than regular ones, and finders can slide quietly up and down the srtings without making that squeaking sound of regular strings.

Comments about DR Strings Flatwound Legend 5-String Bass Medium:

Have used TI's, Chromes, Fender flats, Fender tapes, and Daddario groundwounds. These are real nice. Smoothest to the touch besides the tapes. Falls below Chromes for brightness. Slightly higher tension than all others. Great strings, I want to try labellas, but I won't be taking these off for at least a year lol.
