D'Addario EPBB170 PB Soft Acoustic Bass String Set

Description
The D'Addario EPBB170 PB Soft Acoustic Bass String Set, specially formulated for the modern 4-string acoustic bass. Warmth, bite, and depth characterize the EPBB170's phosphor bronze strings, enhancing your tone whether plugged into an amp, microphone or PA system. Dependable intonation up and down the neck allows for expressive, confident playing. The EPBB170 string set is designed for acoustic bassists seeking rich, projecting tone and tuning stability during live shows or studio sessions.
Phosphor Bronze Strings for Warm, Balanced Tone
D'Addario pioneered phosphor bronze strings in 1974 to produce acoustic strings with a warm yet bright, well-balanced tone. The phosphor bronze wrap wire of the EPBB170 strings generates a warm tone with clarity and punch. Beneath the wrap, a high-carbon steel core provides a stable foundation for clear, responsive tone and intonation.
Precision Engineering for Modern Playability
D'Addario leverages state-of-the-art machinery to produce strings with unmatched consistency and performance. The EPBB170 set features gauges of .045, .065, .080 and .100 inches, a familiar feel for most 4-string acoustic bassists. A slim profile and hexagonal shape allow the strings to vibrate freely, resulting in enhanced resonance and sustain.
Roadworthy and Environmentally Friendly Packaging
The EPBB170 string set includes an innovative eco-friendly package that protects strings from corrosion without excess waste. Made from recycled materials, the resealable packaging has a minimal environmental impact. A durable, lightweight design also makes the strings highly portable and roadworthy.
The World's Most Trusted Acoustic Bass Strings
As the world's largest string manufacturer, D'Addario is renowned for crafting high-quality strings for acoustic basses and all other fretted instruments. The EPBB170 joins D'Addario's lineup of acoustic bass strings, offering warm and balanced tone for acoustic bassists worldwide.

Great strings for hollow body acoustic/electric basses!
I asked the GC in La Mesa to do a set up on my Ibanez 2015 short scale AFB 200 Artcore hollow body acoustic/electric bass and replace the Elixir acoustic/electric phosphor bronze bass strings with these DiAddarrio acoustic/electric phosphor bronze bass strings which are long scale. I'm glad I did a set up on this bass by the GC tech, worth every dollar. Great clear, warm sound, good thump, very nice on the fingers, really good for blues, folk, rock and 60s songs. I had to drive up to the San Marcos, CA GC store from San Diego to get these strings, well worth the drive! These strings sound great on my hollow body bass, excellent plugged in to a bass amp or unplugged. These strings sound great even using a pick. These acoustic/electric bass strings are equally as good as the Elixir strings, I bought these DiAddarrios at half the price! I strongly recommend these strings, particularly for a hollow body type acoustic/electric bass a must buy!

Worst Strings I've Ever Used!
These D'Addario acoustic strings corrode way faster than any others I've tried! They don't sound nearly as good or last as long as Ernie Ball Earthwoods or Elixrs, and I'll never use D'Addarios again. Do yourself a favor and get the Ernie Ball Earthwoods. They're the same price, and they sound better and last longer.

I use them on my made in Westerly Guild acoustic bass with LR Baggs pick ups. Being in coated bronze-phosphor, they give a great, bright enough tone, mellow when you want them to be, very punchy when using a pick. But then again, what self respecting bass player uses one of those? jk
