With features like a solid spruce top, a player contoured neck profile, and backed by the legendary Cremona name, this bass is more durable, playable and responsive than other basses on the market at twice the price. This Bass is a hybrid which blends some laminate and carved traits, but when it comes to sound, this thing delivers. It's a beautiful mellow sound in the mid-high to high range of notes and boomy and loud towards the lower range of notes. As for size, it's little over 6 feet tall. The body is quite thin compared to other basses. Some say to get a proper set up when you invest in this Bass. When I received it, it really didn't need much of a set up. The sound bar was in it's proper place, all I had to do was tune the strings which is something I'm not used to with many Basses. This Bass seems to be best suited for Jazz from owning it for over a year now. I've installed one neck pickup and one bridge pickup, but even when using a microphone, the sound is natural and clear and delivers. I definitely thing this was a great investment as I mainly play Jazz and Psychobilly music. It does great in both settings. Unfortunately for classical, the body is a bit too small to project properly, but it still makes a beautiful sound particularly in the mid range especially when playing Arco(with a bow). The look and make are definitely of pretty decent quality especially given the price of the Bass. It's definitely a head turned and when I play at a show I get multiple comments on how beautiful the bass looks. I think this is a perfect choice if you play any jazz or rockabilly kind of music. For orchestra I would choose a different Bass. One Con that I would give this instrument, is that sometimes (when turning the instrument differently), the notes can fall slightly out of tune which does affect consistency with this instrument. Another con would be that it under delivers when playing with a bow especially in its lower range when you tune under E(0). All in all I would give this Bass a 4.3/5. Solid choice depending on your needs.

Absolutely not! The Cremona SB-4 Premier Novice Upright Bass 3/4 would be great. Unless you're playing in a symphony orchestra, you don't want/need a 4/4. Everyone plays a 3/4.
