Cool Wind

Description

Plastic “brass” instruments have been in the marketplace for a few years now. First came the trombones, then the trumpets. Now manufacturers are taking what they’ve learned and applying it to more ambitious designs such as the plastic tuba. Cool Winds is at the forefront of this design and manufacturing revolution.

The Cool Winds Bb tuba features a bore of 0.826" (21 mm) with an ABS bell and four valves with all metal rotary valves. Comes with mouthpiece and gig bag.

The plastic is very weak and will crack with the smallest bump.

I would have used this product to play with a local symphonic band. But because the rotary valves were difficult to push down and the number 2 and 4 valves clattered when I played. Since it was a new instrument I would have expected it to play perfectly, not have to do adjustments. As a result I was disappointed and sent the tuba back.
