Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 2 - Sonic Sophistication

Description
The Ash So-Cal Style 2 body features a scalloped lower back bout and shredder's cut heel for easy access into the upper frets. The graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck provides rock-solid stability, while a heel-mount truss rod adjustment thumbwheel makes for quick and easy neck relief tweaks.
Engineered for effortlessly nimble and highly expressive playing, the Charvel So-Cal Style 2 has a speed neck profile with a hand-rubbed urethane finish on the back. The 12"–16" compound radius caramelized maple fingerboard has 24 jumbo frets, pearloid dot inlays and a GraphTech TUSQ XL nut. Luminlay side dots are positioned along the fretboard to guide players performing on even the darkest of stages.
The Charvel So-Cal Style 2 is equipped with multi-voiced Fishman Fluence Open Core PRF-COC pickups for layered, dynamic tone. User-selectable voices range from a quintessential hot-rodded humbucking tone to a clear, vintage single-coil tone. The three-way blade pickup switch and volume control knob make for virtually endless tonal possibilities.
This model also features Charvel-branded sealed die-cast locking tuners, standard strap buttons and a Gotoh Custom 510 tremolo bridge for smooth action, improved vibration transfer and enhanced sustain. The Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 2 24 HH 2PT CM Ash electric guitar is capped with a reverse licensed Fender Telecaster headstock.

Too much money to be missing screws

I bought this brand new and it was missing a screw in the bridge pickup. I noticed it immediately so how did it make it out of the factory missing screws. I haven't completely looked the guitar over yet but I'm hoping nothing else is missing

Nice variety of tonal option, but not a jack of all trades. Tuning stability is good once you retune it between activities. Nice flat black roasted maple look. Well built. Good for fusion, but not standard jazz. Great for metal and blues. One negative is the sharp fret edges. But not a deal breaker! Between 4 and 5 stars.

Absolutely astounding guitar. Has several features that you would find on higher-end Fenders (truss rod thumbwheel, floating tremolo bridge), the neck is perfect, and the Fishman pickup system is top-notch. You can coax just about any sound you want out of this workhorse.

First, I love this guitar. Second, worst QC I have ever seen. Out of the box, missing two screws on the pick guard. One missing and the other about to fall out on pick up switch. This as packaged at Fender and never touched at GC. I contacted Chervel / Fender and asked that they send me the three missing screws. They told me to take it in to be repaired. No apology. Been buying Fenders for a long time. VERY disappointed.
A Strat's spirit stuck in a Tele body.

I decided to upgrade from a Squier Affinity HSS I've been using for a while- and I am so glad I got this guitar. You can coax so many sounds out of this thing, so I won't waste my time trying to describe its limits other than one word: none.
Killer axe!

I Love Teles and saw this hanging in the wall for a few months. All my Teles are more traditional, so I decided to give this decidedly modern one a try. I was blown away! Playability is awesome. The neck feels amazing, and the body carve is very ergonomic. The build quality feels very solid. Best thing about this guitar is the versatility. While I haven't warmed up the the modern version of the Fishman Fluence pickups yet, the Open Core Classic version in this guitar ROCKS! They have three voicings; two humbucker, and one single coil. You can coax most any sound out of these. Great cleans, awesome, low-gain bluesy tones, and classic rock to screaming metal. It's all in there, and it all sound good. It has tons of great features like an ash body, roasted maple neck and fretboard, Gotoh 510 bridge (like you would see on a $3k Suhr guitar), great pickups, Luminlay side dots, locking tuners... The only thing it lacks is stainless frets. I went back to the store that evening and brought it home because I couldn't live without it. It really did blow me away. I would HIGHLY recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a great, versatile, do-it-all kind of guitar. Worth every penny I paid. It slays. No regrets.
