The PSR-SX600 contains a diverse array of instrument voices and accompaniment styles from around the world to suit any genre or performance need. Voices include realistic pianos, guitars, brass, strings, and synths as well as world instruments. Styles provide professional-sounding backing in genres from pop and rock to jazz, Latin, country and world music. With extensive editing parameters, you have full control to customize each voice and style.

Cutting-Edge Connectivity Options

The PSR-SX600 provides connectivity for audio in both live and studio contexts. Audio can be sent and received via the 1/4" line outputs, 1/4" headphone jack, or aux input. For recording, connect direct to a DAW via the USB-to-host port allowing MIDI connectivity to computers and other devices. A sustain pedal input and two assignable footswitch inputs provide extra control for live playing.

  • Unison Function allows the Style accompaniment parts to follow your performance—for example, the signature hook from "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder or the ending passage from James Brown's "I Feel Good!"
  • Accent Function allows you to add rhythmic accents by striking the keys with greater velocity.
  • Style Section Reset lets you to go back to beat one of bar one with the touch of a button to smoothly restart the song on the fly.
  • 1/4" microphone input allows you to connect a microphone so you can sing along while you play, hear your voice through the instrument's speakers, and even record your performance to USB audio.
  • Super Articulation Voices intuitively reproduce the natural expressive nuances of non-keyboard instruments, allowing keyboard players to achieve realistic expression.
  • DSP Effects allow you to customize Voices by adding distortion to guitars, concert hall-type reverbs to pianos, and more.
  • Part EQ gives you the ability to shape your sound by adding EQ to each individual part of your song.
  • Smart Chord lets you play great-sounding chords from simple Pop triads to complex jazz 7th chords with just a few fingers.
  • MegaVoices feature various playing articulations, techniques and performance sounds and are used in accompaniment Styles to provide ultra-realistic expression.

PSR-SX600

I have used Korg arrangers for years, this my first Yamaha, and overall I like it. Build quality is great, navigation easy, and instruments sounds are pretty accurate. One thing I do not like is the wally wart power supply, too easy to accidently disconnect. Improvements I would like to see? 1. Hard wired power supply. 2. Be able to turn on/off ACMP switch via foot controller pedal. 3. Be able to send all the channels in the mixer separated to an audio interface for DAW recording (via usb connector?).

A little dissapointed

This is my 5th Yamaha key board in the last 20 years. I own the psr sx 670. Due to Covid dealers won let you try keyboards. I researched on YouTube and was led to believe this psr sx 600 was much greater and double the voices. Mathmaticly it does. Most are synth sounds and almost repeats of each other. This was greatly disappointing. But worse was they eliminated a lot of organ sounds and my favorite synth sounds. My mistake for thinking this was an upgraded sx670 with more usable sounds. One good note is the styles are an improvement. Lesson leaned. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. It will probably be great for you if you didn't have the previous model.

    I love this instrument, it is sufficient for my use. It is way better than other brands, although I do need to upgrade to a better workstation but so far I am happy with this one.

    This instrument is perfect for me in every way. Wonderful features presented in a very ergonomic, easy to use way. I play my ear and let the instrument inspire me. I pick an interesting rhythm and then use auto-accompaniment and one-touch settings to play whatever songs I can feel. Love the complex rhythms and endless possibilities. Every time I sit down at the keyboard, I am astounded. It is absolutely perfect.

    I absolutely love love my Yamaha PSR-SX600. I am amazed at all the functions, the versatility and the crystal clarity.. So many sounds, so many combinations to choose from and to live out my dream. I am able to program my preferred settings and with the push of a a single button, to recall and play. What a pleasure. It's a musical genius.

    I'm a beginner - and my YAMAHA PSR XS 600 makes me sound like a really good beginner, even though I'm 73 years old!
