D-PRE Preamps Deliver Pristine, Natural Sound

USB Audio Class 2.0 support allows direct connectivity to USB 2.0-compatible tablets and other gear without installing any drivers.

Exactly what I was looking for and then some!

I went to GC in Fort Collins, CO to pick up a simple mixer for controlling my growing group of synths. I was directed toward the on sale Yamaha MG10XUF as it was on sale for less than the version without the faders. The D-Pre mic preamps were a nice plus, but at the time not something I was honestly concerned about as I was focusing on clean lines for synths. Upon hooking the thing up, I realized just how far the tech has come in the last 20 years. I've used plenty of old mixers in the past, but this thing was far superior! There are multiple points to prevent bleed through and unnecessary coloration of channels. Each channel is dead silent. The knobs and faders are grade A! They are responsive and have the perfect amount of resistance to them to make them easily controllable. I was immediately impressed. Then came the sound... I plugged in my Moog Grandmother, Sub Phatty and Behringer Model D. Then I plugged in my Yamaha monitors (HS8's). After a quick video to learn to get every line set properly for my preferred use, I set up the first line up and got to hear that Grandmother through those HS8s for the first time. Do you remember in the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, where Chevy Chase plugs in the lights, and they finally turn on and "hallelujah!" everything in the world is amazing, astonishing, surreal? That was the feeling I got when I heard that Grandmother sing through those monitors. The kids came running downstairs and my son couldn't wait for his turn. He and I added the second line with the Sub Phatty and started hitting notes to find a good balance between the two. We're screaming at each other the entire time "This is awesome!!!" It was like we had won enough cash in Vegas to pay for the trip. Holy smokes, Batman! The lines were clear as day, the synths sounded absolutely phat and incredible. It was EXACTLY what I needed and honestly more than I'd hoped for. I see what you did there Yamaha... you created a memory I'll never forget.

Not sure I can trust it now!

Using this to mix mostly in fitness classes. First one worked almost 3 years at 2 to 3 times (hours) per week. Effects failed and was out of GC extended warranty, so I bought a 2nd same new unit 11/12/23. Today is 11/20/23: used under exact same conditions, moved in a travel case and had same effects failure in less than 4 hours of use (1hour/use)…not sure I trust this equipment for its effects side of the amp.

    I replaced an old mixer that I was using for my electronic drum kit, microphones, and audio system. I've never owned a Yamaha mixer but decided on this model because it has sliders, buttons to turn on/off each channel, and the onboard effects with the ability to adjust the effects parameter is quite nice. Using the right cables for my e-kit, microphones, and stereo inputs - this mixer is CLEAN! It checked all the boxes for my personal audio mixing needs.

    Perfect for the small home studio. Now that mixer boards of this size have USB connectivity, audio interfaces have been replaced. I've had this MG for 3 years and it's as sturdy and functional as day 1. I regret taking this long to buy one. It's simply perfect for my production needs.
