Easy and useful
I have logic studio and pro tools and it works great with both. it is fairly easy to set up and use, not to mention it looks great. this control surface definitely puts a human aspect back into fades.

Good, but didn't work with Cubase Studio 4
I had really high hopes for this product. I am using a Macintosh computer with Cubase Studio 4 and a Presonus Firestudio Project. I wanted something to supplement my mousework for mixing and mastering. It was the choice between this and the Alphatrack. I wanted this because that way I could have all Presonus products. But what do you know, the thing didn't work! Apparently Presonus didn't see it fit to make a driver for my particular computer/software configuration. So I ended up with the Alphatrack. Honestly, this product has a better build quality and is a lot easier to use, but ultimately the compatibility issue was a dealbreaker. Also, the Alphatrack is powered by USB, whereas the fader on this unit is powered by an adapter.

I use Cakewalk Professional and had no issues connecting and programming it. It's really hard to beat the feel of fader, pan, and transport controls in your hand instead of with the mouse. It seems to make a huge difference in my workflow. Great job Presonus! I'm hooked and lusting over the faderport 8 right now.

I have been a late adapter to using a DAW, the primary reason was having to click and click all over. This device makes the most simple DAW functions easily and right in front of you. You can run a USB across the room and record next to your instruments. Its basically a super remote control. I use Logic Pro X and it makes so much sense. Best compliment to any home studio.

Just got this today and so far I love it. Obviously I can't speak for its durability, but it seems fairly rugged. As far as functionality, I took it out of the box, plugged it in, and everything worked exactly as advertised. I'm a Presonus Studio One 3 user and this works flawless with that daw. It doesn't get more plug and play. No installation, downloads, or setup required. It will definitely change my workflow for the better. Can't speak for how well it works with other programs. Another quality product from Presonus.

Is this compatible with Pro Tools 12 and a presonus 16.4.2?
Yes it is. If not right out of the box, there will be a software patch available that will make it work.
