Old Blood Noise Endeavors

Description

The Old Blood Noise Excess V2 modulated distortion effects pedal continues their journey to revive and expand sought-out pedal sounds of the ’80s. It features three modes of modulation—Delay, Chorus and Fifth—each with Time, Depth and Volume controls. The Distortion section includes Gain, Tone and Volume controls, allowing you to access light overdrive through fuzzy distortion. Experiment running Distortion into Modulation, Modulation into Distortion or the two in separate parallel paths. The Excess V2 also includes soft touch switching and true relay bypass for each section, an expression jack to externally control Rate and Depth, and an internal trimpot to set wet-dry mix of the Modulation section.

I absolutely love the sounds I can get with this pedal. The distortion is loud, brutal, and amazing in the best way. The modulation section is really cool too, and I love the arpeggios. My only complaint is that the two bypass switches are too close together, and I kept accidentally stepping on the wrong switch - not good to turn on the crazy modulation when you just want a distortion while playing live. For that reason, I had to take it off my main pedalboard, but I kept the pedal and I use it at home.
