With practical features like adjustable power output, Softube emulated outputs and onboard reverb, the DSL40CR adapts seamlessly to practice, gigging and recording. Pairing legendary performance with road-ready construction and a limited-edition blacked-out design, the DSL40CR is a commanding combo that raises the bar for modern tube amplifiers.

All-Tube Power With Celestion Speaker Punch

The DSL40CR’s all-valve design provides the harmonic richness and responsiveness that only tubes can deliver. Its preamp stage is driven by four ECC83 tubes, while a pair of EL34 power tubes ensures dynamic punch and authentic Marshall growl. The 12" Celestion V-Type speaker balances vintage warmth with modern clarity, giving players a versatile tonal foundation suited for every style. From nuanced clean passages to hard-hitting riffs, this speaker and tube combination brings out the full character of your playing with authority and depth.

Adjustable Output for Authentic Tube Tone at Any Volume

One of the DSL40CR’s standout features is its adjustable power output, letting you toggle between 40W and 20W modes to adapt to any environment without sacrificing tube tone. Unlike traditional attenuation methods, this amp lowers output by adjusting the signal to the tubes themselves, preserving feel and response at every level. For quiet practice or recording, the Softube-emulated headphone and line outputs replicate the sound of a miked 1960 Marshall cabinet with impressive accuracy. Whether on stage, at home or in the studio, you’ll enjoy the same responsive performance and signature Marshall character.

Intuitive Controls for Seamless Tone Shaping

Crafting your sound is effortless with the DSL40CR’s versatile control set. Two independent channels—Classic Gain and Ultra Gain—each offer two switchable modes, giving you access to everything from sparkling clean tones to saturated gain. Built-in digital reverb adds dimension, while presence and resonance controls allow you to fine-tune your highs and lows for greater depth and projection. A shared three-band EQ provides precise tonal shaping across any style, and with intuitive gain and master controls, transitions between tones are seamless. From subtle ambience to arena-ready power, this amp delivers flexibility without compromise.

Comprehensive Connectivity for Modern Rigs

The DSL40CR offers a range of connectivity options designed for seamless integration into any rig. Five speaker outputs allow flexible pairing with external cabinets to expand your sound. A series FX loop integrates pedals into your signal chain, while MIDI compatibility gives you deeper control in complex setups. The emulated line out provides a direct signal for silent recording, ensuring your tone stays rich and detailed even when playing direct into a DAW. Compact yet versatile, the DSL40CR is ready to slot into any rig configuration.

It a beautiful heavy beast, I love the power switching, onboard OD is awesome. However, the reverb is useless, and it's extremely difficult to see the text for the knobs. It makes me want to swap it for the traditional style but we'll see.

    • Very trebly , noisy channel switching

Wanted to love this amp for the money , probably good for some styles but i found the treble too bright and not enough low end. The bass control has no difference from 10oclock to 6.. it did have that classic Marshall overdrive and feast sustain . Channel switching not silent very noticeable which doesn't work for me. The foot and finish on this thing is amazing bummed I can't use it

    • Great amp for home or small venues.

Amp is GREAT for home studio's or small venues. Lots of power for more open settings and using the lower wattage works great in the house. Reverb isn't very powerful so I'd pickup a reverb pedal if that's your speed. Loving this amp so far, great sound, deep tone crunchy distortion.

    • Blacked out amp is a stealth buy

Bought this amp today at the North Charleston sc guitar center. Pairs well with humbuckers. The easy interface and controls makes this a great amp. The versatile.watt selection makes this great for home use as well as most small to medium venues. The clean channel goes from twang to warm easily. The high gain makes those pinch harmonics ring out with ease. Overall it's a nice amp that's affordable. Thanks again to the staff at guitar center.
