Fender Tex-Mex™ Stratocaster® Pickups -- CLEAN | Fender

Description

The Fender Tex Mex Pickups set infuses your Stratocaster with enhanced sonic capabilities. These overwound, vintage-style single-coil pickups offer increased output, sparkling highs and a warm tone while retaining the familiar characteristics that have made Strats legendary. Constructed with Alnico 5 magnets and polysol magnet wire, the Tex Mex set cooks your guitar's tone and is a mod that no Strat player should be without.

Texas-Sized Tone in Every Position

Featuring a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup, the Tex Mex set delivers hum-canceling operation in positions 2 and 4. From thick, overdriven leads to bell-like cleans, these pickups shine in any musical situation, unleashing the full range of tones hiding within your Strat. The bridge pickup provides cutting treble and tight bass for solos that soar. The neck pickup warms your tone with its full, rounded quality that jazz and blues players will love. With the middle pickup, you'll find quacky out-of-phase tones perfect for funk and R&B.

Roadworthy and Gig-Ready

While the Tex Mex set offers upgraded performance, it retains the same vintage-correct look as your stock Strat pickups. The white covers and bobbins blend in seamlessly with any pickguard, and the staggered pole pieces are as iconic as the Stratocaster shape. Vinyl-coated lead wires and a plastic bobbin construction make these pickups durable and ready to handle the rigors of the road. Fender built the Tex Mex set for working musicians looking to enhance their tone without altering their instrument's stylish visuals.

A Mod for Players at Every Level

Whether you're a weekend warrior, gigging musician or studio professional, the Tex Mex set has something to offer Strat players of all skill levels. Packed with tonal possibilities, these pickups make experimenting with different sounds fun and inspiring. The increased output provides extra punch for solos yet cleans up nicely for rhythm playing. For beginners, the Tex Mex set offers an easy first modification that provides dramatic improvements in tone. Amazing Pickups, Especially Considering the Price

I replaced the OEM ceramics in my MIM Standard Stratocaster. I have had them in for about six months now, so I have lived with them for quite a bit. I think they positively scream. They have lots of "accurate" Strat tones, along with being quite hot. These pickups love overdrive, but sing very well with a nice clean tone, too. Your Strat will sound very much like a Strat with these babies. These pickups can do the heavy stuff like Halen/ Satriana/ Vai very well, but probably not the best for death metal tones. And the price?? Nothing in this price range is in the ballpark in my opinion. The well-accepted notion is that these are made to the same spec as the Fender Custom Shop "Texas Specials", except are made in Mexico -- differing only in the components used and the manufacturing method to make them. So if you wanted Texas Specials but was put off by the price, then these are REALLY your pickups, for sure. There is nothing even vaguely bad or questionable. Can you tell I really like them??

I wouldn't buy these again

I installed them in a strat and to be honest they are OK but not what I had hoped for. Clean they aren't bad but they buzz when I use my effect petals. Have to punch up the gain and they aren't very dynamic. My Ibanez and Epiphone sound much better same equipment. Got a good deal for them but I'm reinstalling the stock SSH.

Put them in a 93 MIM Strat. Sounded like a wounded duck! I removed them immediately. Not an upgrade.

These came highly recommended by Guitar Center staff, and they definitely do not disappoint. Clean sound, good sustain. These were exactly what I needed for my Texas inspired guitar. 10/10 I would definitely recommend these pickups and will buy them again if I ever have another guitar I want to give a Texas sound to. #sweepstakes
