Epiphone

collapse expand iconDescription

Designed to meet the Megadeth legend's exacting specifications, the Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Prophecy is for players looking to set new standards in speed, sound and technique. Front and center is a pair of custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups that deliver three distinct tones: a warm vintage humbucker, hot modern humbucker and shimmering, optimized single-coil sound.

These sounds can all be accessed by push/pull Volume and Tone pots. The Dave Mustaine Flying V Prophecy also includes Grover locking Rotomatic tuners, Epiphone’s LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for added sustain. A Graph Tech nut boosts harmonic content and increases tuning stability. The mahogany neck boasts an ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and Mustaine’s custom "D" profile. It’s built for the kind of speed and precision the guitarist is renowned for.

Take it to the stage and all eyes will be on you, thanks to the AAA flame maple veneer top and sinister Aged Dark Red Burst finish. This is all complemented by brushed black nickel hardware for the ultimate metal look. Flying V Prophecy includes custom hardshell case.

The fishman pickups are hit or miss my fishman pickups that came with the guitar play fine but once you swap over to the neck pickup both pickups die out like the battery was dead and take forever to want to come back on unless you sit there and jiggle the switch for awhile. Would recommend going passive if you really like this guitar or swapping to EMGs.
