This is in my opinion Epiphone's best line of guitars yet and this model is done so well. The TV yellow is super accurate and thankfully it's a Rosewood fretboard, not laurel.
Highly recommended!!

This Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special DC reissue is a "must have!" I think this guitar is going to be my main axe from now on. I currently own a dozen other guitars; only my Charvels and my Yamaha Revstar can equal the quality and playability of this fantastic Epiphone 1960 LP reissue. And it sounds amazing, and can get so many classic tones. Just a joy to play and to listen to!

I have been trying to find one of these to check it out. A guitar center over an hour away finally got one in stock so I had to go check it out. Lucky for me they had a sale running that saved me about $250. This thing is incredible! The feel and sound is amazing right from the store! Comes with a hardshell case, Gibson P90 pickups, and a slim tapered neck. I brought it home and immediately replaced the strings and conditioned the fretboard and this thing just sounds soo good! I just recently bought my dream guitar Gibson Les Paul studio, this thing gives the Gibson a run for its money. If I were to play side by side blindly, I would take the this Epiphone every time. It's well crafted, looks awesome and sounds way better than I could have imagined. If you see this at a store give it a try, you wont regret it!
I returned it almost immediately

First of all the case was scraped all up and had cuts on it. Looked like it had been around for a while in a GC store. No paperwork or hang tags were included. It was like a monkey packed it in a box Guitar was nothing special. Sounds, frets and feel was a disappointment. Returned it
Great value!

The finish is nice and not too glossy. It is 7.1lbs. The wood grain does show through, as it should. There are dark marks in the cut-away area that are showing through the finish. This is unappealing. The action is high out of the box, so like most guitars, it will need a setup. The neck is bound, but the frets are not, like on my '90s LPS DC. The frets did have burrs when running my fingers along them, not terrible, but also something that will need to be addressed. The frets are small but supposedly 1960 accurate. You'll have to press harder to fret if you are used to taller frets. The pickups I found to be bright, clear, and without much character. Going into a 5E3 (Tweed Deluxe), they sounded detailed and without a lot of bass that the 5E3 can sometimes have. Into a Magnatone Panaramic Stereo, they sounded too brittle; I couldn't take it. I don't have any guitars that sound horrible through that amp. The volume and tone pots worked as expected. This guitar does neck dive, which is not uncommon for this body shape and strap button placement. The workaround is to use a suede strap that doesn't slide over your shoulder; otherwise, you will have to hold up the neck while fretting, and that is no fun. I have an LSL Topanga (their version of the LPS DC style), and a 90s Gibson LPS DC. I love my LSL, and my Gibson. I could love the Epiphone, but I really don't like the pickups, and with the imperfections in the cut-away area I'm just not inspired to play. I have some really good guitars that I love to play, one is a relatively cheap Epiphone Casino, so I'm not being a guitar snob because this is an Epiphone. I was so excited to get this guitar, and I'm surprised that I'm not happy with it.
