Description
The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Outfit, a stunning recreation of one of the most sought-after electric guitars in music history. Now musicians and collectors alike can experience the tone and feel of a vintage '59 Les Paul at an affordable price. Handcrafted in partnership with Gibson Custom Shop, this Les Paul reissue features a mahogany body with an AAA maple veneer top and comfortable 1959-style neck for superb playability and sustain. Outfitted with legendary Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups, this Les Paul delivers the warm, rounded tone that defined an era of rock music.
Iconic Burstbucker Pickups Provide Vintage PAF Tone
At the heart of this Les Paul are Gibson USA Burstbucker 2 and 3 humbucking pickups, which provide the warm, articulate tone of original late-50s PAF pickups. These pickups are made in the USA to exacting standards, using the same materials and construction as vintage PAFs. Combined with 50s-style wiring and high-quality CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors, these pickups deliver rich, multidimensional tone with clarity and definition.
Solid Mahogany Body and Maple Top
Like vintage Les Pauls of the era, this reissue features a solid mahogany body with a carved AAA maple veneer top. This combination produces a warm, balanced tone with singing sustain and natural compression. The maple top also gives this Les Paul a luxurious figured appearance beneath its aged gloss finish.
Comfortable, Medium C Neck Profile
The neck on this Les Paul reissue is shaped to the dimensions of a 1959 Les Paul, with a rounded, medium C profile that plays fast and comfortably. It's made from solid mahogany and features an Indian laurel fretboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. The neck joint is a long tenon design for optimum tone transfer and sustain.
Vintage-Style Hardware and Finish
To complete the vintage vibe, this Les Paul features nickel hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece, and vintage-style deluxe tuners. It's finished in Aged Dark Burst or Aged Dark Cherry Burst gloss lacquer that captures the look of a well-loved original '59 Les Paul. A vintage-style hardshell case is included for protection and transport.

I paid 599 with a case for this guitar and it has got to be the best deal ever given the quality and sound of this guitar. I got it setup by a guy that has done hundreds of these Epi Les Pauls and he says they are an amazing deal. I am very pleased.
Great guitar for the money. As good as a USA Gibson 2xs cost

I tried several of the USA Les Paul's that they had at the guitar center here in Las Vegas in couldn't find one that sounded like a guitar that reflects its price. I asked the rep Alex if he had any Epiphones that were well worth the pricetag and he pulled this guitar from the top row. It was still in tune which was a great sign to begin with since none of the USA Gibsons he pulled down were even close to being in tune. Not even plugged in the sound was so much more resonant than any of the other guitars I played. It had a few buzzes on the low e strings but I went ahead and bought it anyways and had my guitar tech set it up and I actually think it's one of the best guitars I have ever owned and I own plenty of USA guitars. Don't think that because something is made in China that it is low in quality. Epiphone has been around since the 1800s and is actually about 20 years older than Gibson to begin with so don't be fooled by any brand name out there. I love the satin finish, because when your hands get slightly sweaty it doesn't get sticky at all up and down the neck like a painted or lacquered finish will do sometimes.
Never been this excited about a guitar

I consider myself a Fender guy. I pretty much exclusively got my strat with the occasional use of my es335. I used a Les Paul when I got called on stage at a gig and I liked it so I thought I'd try to get one of my own. I played this one and fell in love. Might consider myself an LP man now.
Amazing Guitar

I've had this guitar for a little over two years now and it has been perfect. Super solid build and electronics. Definitely buy this over a cheap Gibson. Take the time with a buffing wheel with some compound and then polish and make it shine. The flat finish is rough and ugly.

I've only ever owned Gibsons, likely buying too much into the hype. I own several Les Pauls, and this guitar will replace many of them. From top to bottom it feels better in the hand and plays better than any lower end Gibson. Don't hesitate to buy one if interested.
Excellent Les Paul made by Epiphone

Traded in my PRS SE to get the Epiphone Les Paul 59 limited edition (which came with Gibson Humbuckers). Just like every other guitar I had, I was expecting to set it up when I got home. To my surprise, the action, intonation, pickup height, and bridge were set correctly. Also, the finish was perfect! At half the price of the Gibson Les Paul Standard, I would recommend this guitar. The neck profile is slightly thinner than Gibson Les Paul 59's, I know because I have the Gibson as well. It just feels that way to me but I didn't measure it to confirm. The pickup output is slightly lesser than Gibson Les Paul but it's not a big deal. It still sounds very much like Gibson! I highly recommend this guitar to anyone at any level of playing.

Does Guitarcenter inspect and, if needed, fix minor problems before shipping? * And if guitar arrives with a problem (fret buzz, action, etc.) Guitarcenter will fix free of charge *I expect if there's any major problems, y'all would send back to the manufacturer.

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be about 9 lbssubmitted5 years ago
