the EVH 5150 III 6l6 1x12 Combo with concentric knobs is great. this thing has gain for days! the digital reverb sounds analog and can be dialed in from slight to saturated. Eddie and Howard clearly used the Roland Chorus 120's reverb as the example. the ability to dial in the volume with the power attenuator makes getting your tone as reasonable volumes a snap. the concentric gain and volume knobs is a game changer for this amp. the direct out is cool in FOH situations. Love the fact they removed the effects loop footswitch for reverb as it was a serious drawback of the 100w. plugged i to the evh 4x12 and this amp is awesome the speaker is too harsh and needs either break in or replace to really get the compact carry it all with you great tone. replaced mine with the eminence Patriot GB128 and problem solved. had to replace v4&5 to tame the ridiculously uncontrollable amount of hiss with 12at7's which also made the amp gain reasonable for Blue and Red channels. love the amp - just needed a few tweaks and its a tone monster as well as a gain beast!
Brutal tone

This amp is great. It has great tone and a lot of versatility. the red channel is awesome and with the resonance knob all the way up, it sounds brutal. It matches the dual and triple rectifiers in tone. Great for those of us that like to play the heavy stuff. The amp is built like a tank and it is more than adequate for gigs and medium sized venues. it is LOUD. The only drawback is that because its a beast of an amp, it is heavy and cumbersome to lug around. It can get a bit noisy so be sure to use a noise gate. It is expected being such a high gain amp.
Don't listen to anyone complaining of noise!

Anybody complaining of hiss is running the amp wayyy to hot. Anything over 3.5/10 gain on blue is nuts and unnecessary. The lead channel should never have to go over 2/10. That's your hiss problem. And dial back the watt control to about 10 O'Clock, don't need the power it also helps with noise.
Fender Says the Noise is Normal

These are Noisy as can be if you are a gigging musician your sound guy will punch you in the face for even bringing it to a gig. Absolute junk. See video proof, and Fender's reply in the video comments when I contacted them. Well they replied after almost a month that is. I am selling them and will honmestly feel bad for selling them Fender Junk when I do.
