How to Install a Telecaster Bridge | Fender
Description
Los Angeles. Late 1940s. A love of motorcycles brings together genius engineer Paul Bigsby and music legend Merle Travis. Their friendship inspired Paul to create the first Bigsby True Vibrato Tailpiece. He went on to design a series of Vibratos that rocked the music world. Still the original. Hand Crafted. Sand Cast. Hand Polished. The same way Paul did.
Les Paul is a Trademark of Gibson Guitar Corp., which is not associated with Bigsby. Silver Jet is a Trademark of Fred W. Gretsch Enterprises Ltd.

Great Bigsby
I had read reviews for the B70 and B700, stating issues with loss of tuning, so I decided to go for the B7 in the hopes of no tuning issues. I love this bigsby, I installed it a few weeks ago, and have had no tuning issues as of yet. I believe it is a requirement that you have good tuners before installing, or I have no doubt that it would be an issue. I upgraded to high end grovers on my 335 copy, and I think it helped quite a bit. Relatively easy to install, and it sounds great, highly recommended as long as you have decent tuners.

The almost Bigsby
The Bigsby B7 vibrato kit was shipped to me with no hardware that includes 6 screws, tension spring , plastic washer, and alignment string. Without these parts the vibrato is useless, and just sits in it's box not on my guitar.

I installed this on a Les Paul modern with the Vibramate adapter and it could not have been any easier. It aligned straight and plays great. No real tuning issues but does seem to take a bit longer for the strings to stretch. Lots of installation videos online if you need help.
Bigsby is great!

Have wanted a Bigsby for a long time. Finally pulled the trigger. I installed it on a Les Paul. I highly recommend the vibramate V7 which makes installation a breeze and no drilling required!
I'm gonna put a Bigsby on all my guitars ....!

So far I like this vibrato very much. The build quality and finish are what I expected. I found the instructions included to be only OK, and the company's website had little to add to them. Instead I had to scrounge the internet for 3rd party instructions. Ultimately the install turned out well, and I'm happy with the purchase. I would also caution anyone installing this onto a gretsch guitar, be sure that you are getting the correct correct type, the b7 works on my guitar, a 1970 roc jet, but narrowly missed some of the controls.

MY ES335 felt incomplete without a Bigsby B7, it's an essential part of the style I play. Installation of the Bigsby is fairly simple, but there is absolutely ZERO room for error & the damage can be severe if you don't get it right the first time.

Just out of curiosity could this be installed on a Dean Razorback? Are there any similar models that could be?
Anything is possible. What your asking, as far as I know, has never been done. I don't know what models it could be done on. You need to see a guitar tech.submitted2 years ago
