Tension rods from TightScrews are a non-loosening tension rod that are designed to stay right where you put it. The tension rod has a small milled groove with a pressed in nylon insert. That technology eliminates loosening or de-tuning of the drum under all playing conditions.

    I finally broke down and bought several sets of these to test on one of my snares. I've used other products before that are designed to prevent detuning. I generally haven't liked the other products because they are more of a hassle if you decide to tune up or down for different occasions. These achieve the task of keeping the drum in tune while also giving you the flexibility to change your sound. Therefore I'd highly recommend these if you're looking for that option. I would say the only negative is that it takes longer to tune your drums due to the nylon insert providing friction. However once you have it dialed in, it stays there. I've been playing that snare constantly for the past few weeks and no issue.
