Behringer U-Control UCA222
I purchased Behringer's U-Control UCA222 USB Audio Interface to convert our church's audio cassettes to CDs. The USB interface was perfect for plugging into the front of the computer; the computer quickly installed the correct drivers. I had to purchase a stero 1/8 inch to dual RCA cable. Then, using Audacity software, it comes with the purchase of the UCA222, I was able to convert several cassette tapes into CDs. You can monitor the audio with the headphone jack too. That's it really helpful. It does what it needs to do at a reasonable price.

This one is in addition to several others. This one doesn't have the phono/line switch that somehow switches itself to the phono mode when you don't want it there. Don't know how that happens. No software comes with it so you can use an external mixer or your own recording software to set levels.
Hardware as advertised, software is up to you

Box works as advertised - very well. No DVD software included but must go online to get needed software - Audacity is key. There is no guidance to the software components needed for a fully functional hardware/software system. Not brain surgery, but you're on your own to get all of the support components for a full hardware/software solution. Thanks to Audacity and the Internet community, as usual.

I bought this product to make some home recordings not knowing that it doesn't have a preamp, and is not the best device for that purpose. It is basically an external usb soundcard for coverting your analog records such as LPs and Cassettes to digital audio on your pc/mac. And it is a great little fairly priced gadget to serve that purpose. It is not intended to be used with microphones for voice recordings. It COULD be used for recording electric guitar/bass using an rca adapter ,however it is not efficient enough to power the pickups to their max potential. You should be able to record any line output, including keyboards without hassle though. It has a direct monitor switch for any latency issues during recording, which is a great add on,especially considering its price.
