Description

Groove and Melody Maker

The SL-20 effect pedal transforms your music into percussive "chopped" grooves. Fifty rhythmic patterns are onboard, with adjustable note attack and duration, plus amazing Harmonic Slice effects. Create high-energy patterns onstage in real-time, or use the SL-20 as a songwriting and recording tool. Play the sliced sounds in realtime while capturing them with Loop Record.

Flexible Control

An internal tap-tempo feature is included, as well as the ability to sync to external MIDI clock. Sound characteristics of the SL-20 such as attack, duration, effect level, and direct level can be controlled by the onboard knobs or from an external Expression pedal.

Universal FX

    I use this to push the sound and tempo with the band. You really have to want to use this pedal. It adds a lot of depth. It is a tremolo on steroids.

    The only pedal I've found that really nails the phase-inversion "out of speakers trick" that makes your stereo speakers sound like surround. A few high end "two speaker surround" products for home theater use this trick as well, and you've definitely heard it, along with lots of other stereo expansion tricks (Muse's Absolution, etc). To get this hallucinatory 3D effect you typically do a bunch of complicated phase inversion, EQ filtering, and panning automation in a DAW (obviously not something you are going to do live). This pedal does an AMAZING job of turning these 3D effects into a live performance tool... You can apply groove patterns to your source signal and have those patterns mixed with your dry signal in any combination via external expression pedal. The groove patterns will bounce left to right far beyond your actual speakers... You can even set them to swirl around your head 360 (all with just two well-positioned speakers). It is a functional pedal too... You can easily slave its tempo to another device via MIDI clock sync and apply it as final "stereo expansion mastering" after a clock synced looper, drum machine, etc. Seriously, invest a little time/cash in this pedal and a proper dual amp setup and you'll trip out for hours

    I bought this effects pedal not to long after it came out. Just trying to yet again broaden my possibilities. It worked not only does it sound amazing stand alone but if you mix it with lets say a DD-7 Digital delay set on analog with an e-bow resonating the Low E string dropped to a D then loop that within the slicer and just play a few chords over it to start off you'll like what you hear. I've been in guitar center many times every time before i bought this device i wowed people with what i was doing. So my only suggestion is to keep your feet on the ground because you're head will be floating in the clouds.
