So much in one little stomp box!
I bought the PH-3 when I listened to a lot of Incubus music etc. The addition of a few new stage modes can really turn your guitar into a synthesizer!! You get so many sounds out of this little pedal. just turn one knob and it sounds completely different! The boss design is die hard and will never fail. There is just one negative aspect which has a huge influence on this review: boss pedals are digital and that's why this pedal will only work to it's full potential in combination with other BOSS effects! if you have lot's of MXR effects or other (analog) brands on your pedal board I would avoid it since the combo of my MXR D-III and the PH-3 just doesn't sound right.. with the SD-1 on the other hand it's the best phaser out there!! so i would only recommend it to BOSS users!

Pretty Lame Phaser
This is not your ideal phaser. When it's engaged, it seems to color your tone in a weird way, and it affects the volume level of your guitar as well. I messed with the knobs for a bit, and the only setting that provided any satisfaction was the Step setting, but I didn't see myself ever using it realistically, it was just fun to mess with for a few minutes. I would highly recommend going with the tried and true MXR Phase 90 instead.

Kinda like a phaser, but you can interrupt the signal for a stutter-type effect.
This is a great sleeper pedal.

It can duplicate several classic '70s era phase shifters. It duplicates my DeArmond, MXR and Mutron phasers. As well as earlier BOSS pedals. It should be able to last a lifetime. Which is something I can not say about other companies designs.
Lots of different sounds are possible.

I like the variety of sounds that can be dialed in with this phaser. Can go from subtle to some over the top sounds.
