Avantone

Description

In pursuit of warm, detailed studio vocal recordings there is the constant battle with the "plosives"....like "T" , "K" , "P" etc....The Pro-Shield allows close work on a mic to capture a more intimate / full sound without overloading the capsule. The specially designed curved surface naturally follows the grill shape of studio mics for an efficient positioning that will yield optimum acoustic and aesthetic results. The piping protects against any sharp metal edges that could cause injuries.

The Pro-Shield is constructed with an acoustically transparent metal screen that yields sonically superb results in studio applications. High-frequency details pass through to be captured in full while blocking the invasive blasts. The flexible yet sturdy 9mm goose-neck and clamp assembly allows the Pro-Shield to be easily attached to any microphone stand or boom arm for precise positioning.

It's sturdy, durable, and it projects the air downward to better avoid plosives. Best filter I've ever had

The pop filter itself is great, although the glue at the base came loose so it can freely sway 3" each way, but I put some guerrilla super glue on it and it's holding up well again. I found it works best when the pop filter is about 3" from your mouth if talking/singing into mic, and 3" from the microphone, being metal it does let a bit more air through so you have to give it room for the air to slow down. I got metal because of its ability to be cleaned by a simple wipe down. I wish it came with a flat mount as well as the V shaped though. So I could mount it to a desk, or a mic stand. The way it is now you're stuck with mounting to a mic stand or ruining the desk as the V shape digs into the wood pretty hard.
