Aquarian Hi Energy Works - Loud Or Soft
The Aquarian hi energy snare batter is as versatile head as I've ever used. I've changed batters and resonants on my entire kit several times in the last 6 months, looking for that perfect combination. For my snare, I installed the Hi Energey three times, and that is what I'm using now. I kept going back to it. Along with the classic clear resonant, I find them both to be able to be tuned at various tensions for different feels and sounds. The best part is that the head sounds good being hit hard and being played soft. I never lose that snare sound. And the head cuts through very well. Even if you don't use Aquarian on your other drums (though you should check them out), you really need to try the Hi energy snare batter along with the classic clear resonant head.

Not bad
Good, durable head. Used one on many gigs but a little more dead sounding than I like. Seems a little like playing on a pillow at times. I really have to work to get the response out of it that I want. I wanted something very durable that sounds good and this fulfills that but I'm going back to Remo Emperors. They just feel livelier.

I have no clue how anyone could trash this drum head. As a rock/metal drummer who hits extremely hard with Vater 3A sticks, I gigged and practiced on the same head for over a year with no noticeable wear and tear. This thing is practically indestructible. I think it cuts down on some overtones a bit, but with no muffling, you still get tons of cut and crack on metal snares.

This is a great drumhead to control and focus sound especially on snare drums. Tried this on my Gretsch Catalina Club snare over the stock head (essentially like a coated Ambassador) and it was a big improvement. The only issue with this head is it doesn't allow for playing out near the rim of the drum with any real success, Ambassadors are much better for this. Best for playing in and near the center of the drum because of the central dot, so as mentioned, this head is for a specific purpose and not a good "all around" head.

This is a great head! It's loud, solid, and consistent. Guitar center needs to stick this in stores because it's the best
