I love them, but...

These lights are great for performances and for practicing the set with the band and you want to have the under the lights feeling. The only problem I have with them actually has nothing to do with the light. On the box, it says you can separately buy color caps for them to give them color but they are impossible to find. Therefore, I had to make my own out of some clear binder dividers and colored sharpies. Not a big issue, and they surprisingly don't melt because they are really hot, but I wish they sold them more widespread. That being said, they're a great addition if you don't need those color gels or if you don't mind making your own. Then again, a longer power cord would be nice...

These things are great for the price. I bought two of them along with two clamps to mount to the speaker stands just before a show and they work great. They are bright, and give a lot of great light harmonies (if you know what I'm talking about). I have three problems with it though, however they don't bother me any. Number one, these are halogen bulbs and they get hot and fast. I don't know how many times after a show I'd be tearing down the lighting and I'd touch these things and hurt my hand. So be aware of this, however this really isn't the lights fault. Second, I don't like the power cables. Thank god they're not power bricks, but the cords just aren't long enough to reach a power source, but that's what extension cords are for. (And I don't know about you, but I have a lot of them.) Then finally, the gel-caps. It says on the box you can buy 8 perfectly fitting color gel caps separately, but I've never seen them. And I think 30 dollars is a bit too much for a pack standard translucent color papers for other lights (sorry if I didn't name that right, I don't exactly remember what they're called), so I had to get some color sharpies, some scotch tape, and clear binder dividers to make these lights have color instead. Not the safest way in the world, but I don't care if someone doesn't approve, I'm saving $25 on adding color to these lights. Otherwise, these lights are ideal for smaller performances if you're on a tight budget like me. I'd highly recommend them to anyone like me, if you can work past the flaws I've mentioned. They aren't very impressive, but they are good for the price and I'm not going to get rid of these anytime soon.

These lights create a great effect except that they have a lot of extra light around a 12 inch mirror ball. But overall a great buy

Is there an available colored lens cap or adaptable piece that will hold gels in place or do I need to purchase a diffetent light.
They actually make a clip in lens (shaped like a contact lens) for this light.
