Great size, weight, and volume
Great for a budget. I definitely recommend a subwoofer with them as they are only 2-way, so expecting more bass than provided is a bit expected for larger rooms/applications. For those mentioning a dj rig clipping at not even 50%, line level max volume (not mic level) is at the 12 o'clock position for the volume knob, as they have a handy built in mic preamp boosting the signal, which begins at the 12 o'clock position and maxed out at full blast (around 5 o'clock on the volume knob.)

Good sound, weak power
When I first heard these speakers, I was pleasantly surprised by their sound. For a 10" driver, these put out a nice, full bass response that defies their size. The highs were sharp and clean too. These could be great monitors for a DJ practicing at home or gigging a smaller room. The downside is, the clip light started popping on every time the kick on my tracks hit once the volume on the speaker was at about 30-40%. Now, I do play bass heavy music but the output from the mixer was at 0db so I know the clipping was at the speaker itself. In my opinion, if it is already clipping before it even hits 50% volume that's not right. At the max volume without clipping, I could still hold a conversation directly in front of the speaker. So they sound good but at fairly quiet levels compared to other self-powered speakers I have used. Would recommend for a home practice set up our even an acoustic singer-songwriter doing a coffee house gig but, these are not dance floor worthy speakers.

I've had good luck with Alto. For the price, it seems to be the best monitor available - would also work as a PA speaker in a pinch at a smallish venue. Sound is clear and it has a good balance of highs and lows. It's a much better speaker than the low price would indicate. It isn't JBL, but it doesn't cost anywhere near what a similar JBL model costs, and the sound is fairly close. Whether it will last well under constant gigging remains to be seen. So far, I love it.

Sounds very good for a small speaker. Some speakers advertise 300 watts but is really 150. This is a legit 300. If you turn the volume too high the speaker will just shut off until you turn it down to a volume it can handle. This speaker is meant to be played at high volumes to get the best sound quality. If you play it at low or medium volumes you won't take advantage of the lows and mids it produces. I bought Alto speakers in the past and they were horrible. I've heard better 10 inch speakers before but these are the best for the price.
Great speaker for the price.
