Any pocket trumpet is a compromise over a full-sized trumpet, and there are a few nits to pick with this one, but for the price, it's hard to give much weight to the complaints. Still, for the sake of completeness, here are some nits: some of the tuning slides are hard to adjust because of the compactness, and the left hand thumb slide is very difficult to adjust during performance; you can't fit the trumpet in the case unless the main tuning slide is pushed all the way in; also, the grip is different than on a traditional trumpet, and a bit awkward - I have yet to figure out the ideal way to hold it. But, like I said before, those are very minor quibbles with this beautiful little trumpet. The valves feel good and work well, the sound is very good for a horn with so many twists and turns, and the black lacquer job is stunning. For what it is and what it costs, this horn is darn near perfect.

Nice little trumpet. I'm just getting back into playing (after 20 years or so)...and just played it at a school staff Christmas musical. Everybody loved it! Easy to play (found it easier than my old trumpet I have).
