This book is good if you already understand how to read music notation, if not then it may be better to get pumping nylon in tab. But, this book along with christopher parkenings classical guitar method is a really nice combo. There are a few things that are explained easier and more in depth in this book than in parkenings, however the parkening book teaches you very basically how to read music notation and where those notes correlate on the fingerboard. I suggest this book to anyone seriously wanting to learn to play classical guitar, and if your that serious and dont know how to read music notation you should consider learning that. Tablature can get you far, music notation can take you farther. The dvd is nice if you are a complete beginner, but if you are intermediate you would be fine with just the book.
