Alesis
Description
The Alesis E-Drum Total bundle puts an entire electronic drum system into a single box, so new drummers can start playing in minutes. This e-kit is no toy—it's made with professional materials, including mesh heads, by one of the most respected names out there. It's an excellent choice for first-time players, or experienced drummers who want an affordable way to practice in silence.

All the Essentials to Start Playing

First, there are the pads: four 6” adjustable mesh-head drums that feel great without any of the noise that comes with rubber e-drum pads. Each one of the three included cymbals boasts a large 10” playing surface so players never miss a beat. The kick drum and hi-hat are controlled by responsive foot pedals that can be rolled up and put away while not in use. The adjustable throne and headphones provide comfort for players of all ages. Even the drum sticks are included. Alesis E-Drum Total is the perfect package for any aspiring drummer.

Highly Capable Alesis Module

At the heart of E-Drum Total is the feature-packed Alesis module. The included sound module features 10 drum kit presets, ranging from classic to modern, custom-designed by Alesis. These kits contain a total of 120 individual drum sounds and utilize Intelligent Dynamic Articulation technology to provide incredibly realistic sound and playability. The sound module can be connected to the included headphones for silent practice day or night. For live shows and jam sessions, connect to an external sound system or amplifier such as the Alesis Strike Amp 8 (sold separately) using stereo 1/4" outputs. The E-Drum Total sound module also features an integrated drum coach, including 30 play-along tracks, as well as specially designed rhythmic exercises to help build and improve skills. Plus, there is an 1/8" AUX input for jamming out to tunes from a phone or tablet.

Free Lessons from Melodics

Alesis teamed up with Melodics to include 60 free lessons with this E-Drum Total bundle. Available for PC or tablet, Melodics is an app that helps improve timing and expand drumming vocabulary. The lessons make practicing with Alesis drums fun and effective. Melodics provides instant feedback so students know exactly what to work on for next time. It's a great way to build new musical skills.

1). There is no way to change the volume of individual components. As a result, the hi hat was too quiet. 2). The pedals are much too sensitive and sometimes cause single strokes to become doubles or triples. 3). The actual size of the kit is too small. Good for a kids set but definitely not meant for adults.

I bought this as an out-of-box. The hi-hat and kick drum controllers were missing, and I spoke with support to get them. Its been over a week, and still no word as to I will get them. The drum and cymbal sound are great and the beat is on spot. But I need the complete sound for my own satisfaction.

  • I would NOT recommend this set.

This drum set is not well made. The actual sound is ok, but the structure is poor. The drums do not tighten effectively so they are constantly moving when played as do the cymbals. The base is wobbly and has to be just right to avoid a tilt. I have used Simmons and they are a much nicer set and worth the extra money.

I bought this set expecting it to be adjustable for an adult beginner. Unfortunately, both the packaging, and the general description didn't give me a lot to go on whether this set was specific for kids, or otherwise. Other than the kick pedal being way too sensitive, it could've been a great starter set for a child. I plan on donating it to someplace that deals with children who are targets of abuse and harassment (bullying) at school, and then I intend to replace it with a set that is more for an adult beginner when I can afford one.

  • Amazing Kit, but the Kick Pedal is trash

fromI am not telling you that.

The kick pedal is very hard to work with, and is poorly made. I've attempted multiple times to keep it still on a concrete floor but the thin design is not ideal or tack or tape. Otherwise, awesome kit. Very cheap, I would encourage any novice to purchase this and then advance accordingly.

  • Decent overall set
